I just bought an LG Prime gs390. It was advertised as unlocked. I put my Tmobile sim card on the phone and it works fine for text and voice calls, but I can't access the internet. I have been trying to change APN settings to ones provided by tmobile, but they're not working. I keep getting Gateway timeout messages. I'm hoping somebody can help me. Thanks in advance.

I'm assuming your both on the same network? If your both tmobile customers or AT&T it should work without problems.

If not. The phone needs to be unlocked. to be used with another sim card from a different company.
And to do that. Your friend can call his carrier he bought the phone from, request an unlock code, then unlock it that way, and you'll be able to use it just fine.

Only if your on either Tmobile or AT&T. No other sim cards will work.

you might not be having the GPRS settings saved in your mobile. call and request your service provider for GPRS settings, they will send you the settings and you can save it..now you will not have any problem using the MMS and INTERNET .

1. (easyer way) When I got my Blackberry, I had to put it in a couple of times for it to work.

2. Buy a new sim card.
If this does not work, then check to see if it is unlocked.

You can, but you may have issues texting, using mms, and internet. T-Mo would have to change the settings on the phone to work with their network for that; they may not do that since it's an ATT phone. Phone calls would work fine though without any changes.

i believe i had had the same issue.

i unlocked an at&t phone and put in the sim card and it wouldnt work. i called tmobile and the representative told me that they have to register the sim card to their network or something.

so just call tmobile and tell them you got a new phone and want to register it so the sim will work in the unlocked phone.

i bought an iphone on ebay and put a tmobile card in it i can make calls but can not unlock to get my texts or on the internet

The LG CU500 is a 3G phone I think. You may need to change your SIM CARD to 3G. I had a razor and my Sim didn't work with the LG CU320 I bought. Also unlocking a LG phone is a little more troublesome that other phones. I found a solution on the web. sorry I don't remember the website address, but it comes up in any google search. Hope this helps.
