Toshiba touchpad selects everything - this is the touchpad for toshiba satellite a135-s4527 with synaptics touchpad. It grabs a spot and draws boxes on my desktop without me doing it. It highlights things without me. If I am using word or excel it will highlight things and then of course move them elsewhere like a cut and paste. It closes websites when I have just moved the mouse over the vicinity of the x. It decides to select and delete emails (I select an email and it also gets rid of the next one too). It is driving me crazy. I have it set on the lowest sensitivity. I do not have clicklock enabled. I do not have tapping enabled.

Sounds like malware or a virus is on the computer. I would google Malwarebyte and run it. Then Quarantine the Malware and restart the computer. It should stop the issues.

A135-4257 touchpad stopped working

Check to see the make of your touchpad (in most cases it would be a synaptics one.) If so, go to http://www.synaptics.com/support/drivers and download the corresponding driver according to your operating system.
NOTE
I'm assuming you already went through the basic steps such as checking if there's a dedicated touchpad button which might be turned off, checking if from control panel\mouse the device is not disabled, etc.

Toshiba satellite A135-S4527

In the device manager, check to see if the drivers for the synaptic pointing device (touch pad) are installed. If they aren't then you will need to go to Toshiba's support site and download them. If they are, then unistall them and reboot. The machine will find the touch pad and reinstall the drivers. Many times when an external is used, especially for a long period os time, the drivers for the external will override or glitch the drivers for the internal. Reinstalling them should do the trick.
