Follow the steps below to ensure proper dishwasher detergent selection and usage.

Use only powder, liquid or tablet detergent designed specifically for automatic dishwashers. Any other types may cause a sudsing and as a result, poor wash performance and possibly suds and water on your kitchen floor. GE recommends either Electrasol®, Cascade® or Cascade Complete® detergents.

Use the right amount of detergent for the job. Soft hot water requires less detergent - perhaps a quarter of a cup in the main cup. Very hard water requires a full main cup and a full open cup to get good wash performance. Conditions between these require judgment. Use enough to get the job done, but don't use more than you need.

Too much detergent in very soft water will cause etching of glassware. This is a permanent clouding of the glass. If you experience this condition, use less detergent.

Keep your detergent fresh and dry. Store the detergent in container away from moisture to prevent lumps. Do not put detergent in the cup until you are ready to run a cycle. If powder detergent gets old or lumpy, throw it out; it will not clean effectively. Liquid detergents do not age.

As a rule of thumb:
Harder water requires more detergent

Cooler water requires more detergent

Softer water requires less detergent

Hotter water requires less detergent

Where can I get wiring diagram?

Just ask Ecolab to come and connect it for you. You will need a contract for their detergents to run through it. It will also need calibrating.

Dishwasher tablet does not dissolve so crockery not clean

Hello, M Cruse -

There are several situations which can result in the dishwasher detergent table not dissolving completely.

First, make sure your dishwasher detergent tablet isn't the kind that has to be removed from a cellophane type wrapping before placing in the dishwasher. I mention this because my husband does not always purchase the same brand of dishwasher detergent tablets. Some are not the kind with plastic which dissolves in the hot water of the dishwasher.

I think the information here:
https://removeandreplace.com/2015/05/15/dishwasher-not-dissolving-detergent-or-tablet-how-to-fix/
covers all the reasons why the dishwasher detergent tablet may not dissolve completely.

We have the problem that the detergent dispenser often "traps" the tablet. We reside in a rental and the landlord has not chosen to replace the dishwasher with a newer model, so we just toss the tablet into the bottom of the dishwasher.

Note: I think purchasing a gel dishwasher detergent would be better, but The Husband likes the tablets. Sigh . . .

Best wishes.

google the manufacturer for user manual and parts information
as for quality detergents there are catering and commercial cleaning outlets that will have the products that meet standards
you have to decide on the quality verses cost that still meets standards

Recently all my dishes are VERY foggy and dirty after I run

Try running a cycle without dishes and using about a quart of white vinegar with hot water and normal detergent. You might also try another brand/type of detergent. Some are better than others in dealing with hard water. Hope this helps!

Insinger commercial dishwasher ...water keeps overflowing when unit is off. cannot find a repair manual for GS 14

Most likely a leaking fill valve...the seat may be worn out or there may be some debris in it causing it to not fully close.

Perhaps Insinger offers a valve rebuild kit. [email protected]

Dishwasher won't clean

It sounds like you need to use a chemical cleaner to remove lime, or other sediment from your machine. If you go to the following web site you will see a product called dishwasher magic which will thoroughly clean it out. Use this product at least once a month to keep your problem from reoccurring.

Where does the detergent go?

There is a circle on the door. When you have loaded the dishes, pour the detergent on the door to fill the circle and close the door.
