It can be a few things but first try resetting your CPU, while your transceiver is off, hold down the UP & DOWN buttons simultaneously then turn the transceiver back on, now it should be reset to the factory default settings
The best solution I can recommend is, that you take it in to your nearest radio rapair shop and get them to check it out, and if it doesn't cost too much (over $100.00), then get it repaired.
You have a good unit there, so a check up is always recommended to keep it going.

May I suggest the following: join yahoo group specific to your radio Make/Model, where you will receive expert info from professional people in the field. Plus you can down load manuals, diagrams and software, just to name a few things, freely.

Hi there, I think you might have the priority channel switched on. Look for a button labeled PRI or somthing like that, press it once or if that fails press for 3 seconds.
