My Belkin F5D8236-4 v3 Router won't turn on. We had a storm last night and the power went out but the router won't turn on. I have tried to plug it into different outlets to see if that would work but it doesn't seem to do the trick. What can I do?

Try resetting the router. There should be a little hole somewhere on it with a button inside that you can press with a paperclip. Try holding that button down while you unplug then plug the router in while holding it (if possible). If that doesn't work, I'd suspect the storm might've damaged the router somehow. Was it plugged into a surge protector, and/or have you noticed any other issues with anything else that was turned on at the time?

Yea I had it plugged in a power surge protector which I actually turned off before the storm began. Everything else that was plugged in the power surge protector works fine

Hi! I hit " change

Are you sure that it is not the modem that is giving you the problem? Try turning off the modem (power) and then restarting after about 20 seconds. If that does not help, reset the modem and go through the set up process again. Hopefully that will settle the problem.

My belkin router wont light up?

  1. Try plugging the router to a different power outlet.
  2. Reset the router.
  3. Check the power adapter specification of your router and if you have another power adapter that has the same specification then try that power adapter to your router.
  4. If using another power adapter and your router will not power on still, it is possible that your router is faulty already.
Hope this helps!

Belkin problem

Try other power outlet first. If the router have a power off and on button, then switch it on. Check the router power specs. If you have other device with the same power specs, try it out. If it is still within the warranty of Belkin, try to have the router replaced by them.
