To remove the filter. remove the water bucket. Then looh at the top of the water bucket cavity. You will see a small plastic pull type handle. This is the plastic frame for the air intake filter. Pull it down to remove frame and the filter. After washing an rinsing the filter, be sire it's completely dry, before installing it. Be sure you have turned the unit OFF and unplugged it before removing the filter.

Bought the Frigidaire 6000 BTU Window Room Air Conditioner LRA067AT7 6 months ago and it worked fine until last week, It will not turn on although plugged in and the wall outlet is good. Is there an auto...

Good Morning Luca,

I understand your Frigidaire air conditioner, model# LRA067AT7, will not turn on. I also see that the wall outlet is good, so you are wondering if there is an automatic shut off if the filter has not been cleaned. Your air conditioner does not have an automatic shut off, if the filter has not been cleaned. Please start by cleaning the filter. You can do this easily with the following instructions:
The air filter should be checked at least once a month to see if cleaning is necessary. Trapped particles in the filter can build up and cause an accumulation of frost on the cooling coils.

1)Push the vent handle to the Vent Closed position (where applicable).
    2)Open the front panel.
3)Grasp the filter by the center and pull up and out.
4)Wash the filter using liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water. Rinse filter thoroughly. Gently shake excess water from the filter. Be sure filter is thoroughly dry before replacing
5)Or instead of washing, you may vacuum the filter clean.

Also, be sure your air conditioner is properly grounded. To minimize shock and fire hazards, proper grounding is important. The power cord is equipped with a three-prong grounding plug for protection against shock hazards. Your air conditioner must be used in a properly grounded wall receptacle. If the wall receptacle you intend to use is not adequately grounded or protected by a time delay fuse or circuit breaker, have a qualified electrician install the proper receptacle. Do not run your air conditioner without outside protective cover in place. This could result in mechanical damage within your air conditioner. Do not use an extension cord or an adapter plug.

The power supply cord contains a current device that senses damage to the power cord. To test
your power supply cord do the following:

      1)Plug in your Air Conditioner.
2)The power supply cord will have TWO buttons on the plug head. Press the TEST button. You will notice a click as the RESET button pops out.
3)Press the RESET button. Again you will notice a click as the button engages.
4)The power supply cord is now supplying electricity to the unit. 4)

I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

      -Best Regards-

How can I purchase a replacement air filter for keystone kstad70b?

The filter in your Keystone KSTAD70B is meant to be washed. It is not listed as a replacement part in the owners manual. This is copied from the manual:

3. Clean the air filter
Remove the filter every two weeks based on normal
operating conditions.
Remove the filter from the top of the unit (See.Fig.11a),
or to remove the filter, remove Bucket then pull filter
downwards (See.Fig.11b).
Wash the filter with clean water then dry.
Re-install the filter,replace Bucket. CAUTION:
DO NOT operate the dehumidifier without a filter
because dirt and lint will clog it and reduce
performance.

If you have lost or destroyed the filter, go to Amazon and order the Duck Brand 1285234 Replacement Air Conditioner Foam Filter, 24-Inch by 15-Inch by 1/4-Inch, 1-Pack for 96 cents with free shipping as an add-on item to any order. It is also washable so you will be able to use it like the OEM filter material.

After an hour, the refrigeration unit begins to freeze up. Condensation appears on top of the dehumidifier cabinet. I have eliminated all obstructions to air flow, including the filter. What can I do?

Hi,

The most common cause of frost and ice buildup on a dehumidifier is because the unit is operating in temperatures that are too cold. Many dehumidifiers are not equipped to run at temperatures below 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
To fix this problem, Position the dehumidifier in an area where there is at least one foot of clearance around the unit in order to allow for proper air circulation during its operation. Close all windows, doors and other outside openings to make sure your unit isn't attempting to remove moisture from areas outside of the immediate room. Determine the temperature of the room by checking a nearby thermostat or by using a hand-held thermometer.

Check the filter for dirt and buildup. Unplug the unit from the electrical source and check the filter by opening the filter compartment. If the filter is dirty, it will restrict airflow through the unit and lead to freezing. Soleus recommends lightly vacuuming the surface of the filter to remove dirt. The filter also can be washed in warm water if it is extremely dirty. Once clean, place the filter back in its compartment. Allow for the ice to melt and then restart your dehumidifier.

Ordered and installed a new humidistat and still no results for defhumidification, could there be another problem? Is there a freeon gas, or another form of gas, also is there a compressor? Help...

First off, Ted. Freon is no longer approved by the EPA. R134a is the approved refrigerant gas for all compressors. However, you may be overlooking the basics of what can cause the problem you've been having. There are 5 of them and don't require any serious repairs. Pay particular attention to numbers 1 & 2.

1. The humidity extraction level is set to HIGH. Lower it to 32-35%.

2. Air intake filter is dirty or clogged. Turn unit OFF, & Unplug the
Unit, before removing to inspect & clean it, if necessary. If washed,
allow filter to completely dry before reinstalling. DO NOT operate
the unit without the filter.

3. Obstructed air flow. Maintain a minimum of 12 to 18" of clear air
space around the entire unit.

4. Cooling coils are dirty and need to be cleaned. Use warm water & dish washing liquid to
clean the coils. Rinse and wipe dry. Apply a light coating of WD40 to the coils.

5. Ambient air temperature at floor level is between 40 - 60 degrees.
dehumidifiers do not work well between those temperatures
(Unless, you have a Low Temp Unit). This applies mainly to
where the air temperature at floor level is colder than at shoulder
in basement applications level. Raising the unit up off the floor,
onto a sturdy table, counter top, etc, that can handle the weight
of the unit, plus a full tank of water, will usually resolve this
problem.

I hope this helps you to troubleshoot the basics and solve the problem.

Blowing air out ,not pulling in

It may seem like no air is being pulled in - but air must be going in if air is being blown out. The air coming has to come from somewhere. It is more likely that the air flow is restricted.

This appliance has a reusable, washable filter. It should be checked regularly and cleaned as needed to allow the free flow of air into the appliance. A dirty filter restricts airflow and reduces efficiency of the appliance. It can also cause frost to clog the fins, too. If this happens, shut off and allow to thaw. Clean the filter, shake off excess water and reinstall. Power up the appliance again and it should work as expected. Do not operate the appliance without a filter installed. If you do, the fins will clog with dirt and are much more difficult to clean than a filter.

I hope this helps and good luck. Please rate my reply - thanks.

How do I clean the dehumidifier?

A dehumidifier works just the way an air conditioner works but in a reverse manner. If you encounter a problem with your dehumidifier then it would be repaired the same way you would repair an air conditioner. As such a dehumidifier does not require much cleaning apart from changing the filter. When the filter and coils of the dehumidifier are choked with dirt, it may not pull out moisture from the air properly. The efficiency of the dehumidifier gets decreased and the only solution is, to clean it thoroughly. In order to assist you with the cleaning procedure of a dehumidifier, following are a few tips:
  1. Remove the water tank/container and clean it after draining the water. Depending on the usage the container must be cleaned regularly.

  2. Cleaning or changing the filter is also important for the main function of ensuring a healthy atmosphere is performed by the filter. Mix some bleach with warm soapy and clean the filter. It will help to get rid of the bacteria, molds and mildew.

  3. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the evaporative coil/hot coil. Scrub off the dirt using a brush but make sure that you don’t bend the fins while cleaning.

  4. Clean the condenser or the cold coil the same way. If the humidifier is working in a room where the temperature is below 60 degrees Fahrenheit then check the coils whether it is not icing up.

  5. See to it whether the fins are bent or not, if they are bent then straighten them out using a fin comb otherwise it might obstruct the effective working of the dehumidifier.

  6. And yes do not forget to clean the fan blades and other parts of the dehumidifier.

  7. Keeping in mind the humidity level of your room, sets the humidistat of the dehumidifier as keeping it too low or too high may only make the dehumidifier to run longer than necessary.

Also before you start with the work of cleaning the dehumidifier, make sure that it has been unplugged.

Do i just clean the air filter or buy a new one?

clean it - pull out the bucket, look under the front panel lower lip, remove any tape, and pull down the slide-in filter (it fits behind front grill) - just vaccuum and/or rinse and put back in - the tape was just for shipping.

Should I clean or replace the air filter?

You can wash the filter with water, no problem. However, I would recommend replacing the filter every 3 to 4 months depending on how much you use the dehumidifier. The exposure to constant moisture will cause the filter to grow mold over time.
