How do I reset fatal error code 980 on a oki c5650

    I only got some adhesive paper wrapped around roller it is all off didn't even get any residual adhesive left stuck on the roller can I over ride the fatal error code I don't believe anything is damaged

    Hi The LED screen seems to be stuck on SYSTEM MAINTE when I power up with both + and - Menu buttons together what should I do

    Can you help with the "system mainte" when I push + and - when I power up? I really need to get on with my printing if not I'll have to look else where for help

Oki is forcing you to buy a new fuser. If fuser roller, film and thremistors are still in perfect shape, reset is possible with new OEM FB fuse

    1. Turn machine on while pushing and holding the TWO up/down menu
    buttons at same time.
    2. Menu window will show "OKI USER"
    3.
    Scroll to " Engine Dialog Mode" is indicated. Push Enter button.
    4.
    "Diagnostic Mode xx.xx.xx S-Mode is indicated.
    5. Scroll to "NV-Ram
    initial" is indicated. Push ENTER.
    6. Window shows "NV-Ram- Initial
    Table 1".
    7. Push ONLINE and ENTER Buttons simultaneously and HOLD
    for 10 seconds after you see "Executing Reset" appear in menu window.
    8.
    Restart printer.

    if this is the case it is a faulty toner and you cannot get on without replacing it

You cant find the reset because there is not one. OKI do not use resets to cure errors. Yes a 980 is paper wrapped around the hot or pressure rollers in the fuser. Normally you just take out the fuser and remove the paper and it will start working. However this MUST be done with the power OFF. So it should be a case of just turning it off and removing the jam and refitting the fuser and turning it back on. If the error is still there then alas a new fuser is require to get it going again. You may be able to buy a fuse from suppliers on the net, fit it and that will do the reset without the need of buying a fuser.

OKI C330dn Call Service fatal Error:980
That particular error indicates a fuser failure. Try turning off the printer and re-seating the fuser. If this does not clear the message then the fuser needs to be replaced. With such a low number of prints warranty should cover it.

I had a piece of paper wrap around the fuser of my Oki C5650 printer. I have removed the paper (all of it.), but now it is displaying a 980 Fatal Error code. What do I do now?
I just had a service call with a 980 error. i removed the paper wrapped around the fuser roller but the error persisted. The only thing that cleared the error was to replace the fuser. I am not sure why but the fuser was shot after it had the paper wrap inside it.

There is no reset to clear the error. The only fix was to replace the fuser.

How do i solve fatal error 980
i got that error on the first day i got my oki c5950 it was a result of a paper jam in the fuser unit, i removed the jamed paper but the error was still there, i contacted oki support and got a detailed explanation on how to fix this error with a patch file, so if u or anyone out there r still having that problem send me a mail on [email protected] and i will forward u the info.

Oki c 5600 980 fatal error
The error means that the media is wrapped around the heat roller of the fuser. The only way to reset this error is to replace the fuser unit.

Replace the fuser unit.

Suggestion -
Before you replace the fuser, take it out and check for a piece of stuck label, paper, etc. You can spin the fuser roller by turning the gear on the side.
