I have an 11 year old 5.5 excellence top loader by F&P. it won;t continue on with any cycle or programme. it wants to start, but after couple seconds it stops, then it tries again, and then stops, until the machine starts beeping. it does this on all programmes, whether filling up, draining, etc.

Could be one of several different things depending on the age and model. If its less than 10 years old and is a top load washer its probably a motor coupling (connects the motor to the transmission kinda like a belt) or lid switch. If the water is draining out but the washer is not spinning its probably the motor coupling. If it still has water in it and won't spin, its probably the lid switch. If your washer is a front loader there could be several things going on. Hope that helps.

Hi - open the lid - poke your hand under the right corner - locate the lever hanging down & wiggle gently back/forth - this may release the out of balance switch - try it out.

Otherwise you need to remove the 2 screws on the back top corners - disconnect the power & cables under the display panels to remove the switch located on the right side with 2 wires attached to it - usually wh & yellow.

this is whats causing the machine to behave as you described...

I have had this problem with two of my previous washers a top loader and front loader.Each time it was a faulty pump that drains the water from the tub after the wash cycle is complete. If the water does not drain from the tub the machine will not go to the spin cycle. Both of my washers were 5 or 6 years old when this occurred. If the washer is only 5 months old it should be under the manufactures warranty. Good Luck.

my dishwasher starts off with good intentions then a couple of minutes later it starts beeping non stop.I open the door to find it has turned on to the rinse cycle and will not do its job.I continue to start it again and then it repeats the problem again.Can you help?

Timer is faulty and should be replaced.
