Hi there, I recently bought a second hand Fisher & Paykel Pride 5.5 washing machine and we only have a cold water tap so I have attached the cold water tap and put a copper cap I got from a hardware store on the hot water on the back. The machine is completely stable on the ground and when we put on a cycle it stops after a few minutes. I then press start again and it gets going for another short while and then stops again. The same happens if I press advance. I am wondering if the problem is because I don't have a hot water tap for it to connect to or have I bought a faulty machine? Thanks for your time! Tjits

HI - THE WASHER WILL BE OK WITH COLD WASH ONLY, NOTE WHEN YOU TURN THE MACHINE ON THE WATER SECTION WOULD HAVE THREE LEDS - COLD ON BOTTOM - WARM - MID & HOT - TOP MOST.

WOULD THIS BE THE CASE? IF IT BE - THEN SELECT COLD ONLY & SHOULD WORK FINE - THERE IS A WAY TO CHANGE THE DEFAULT TO COLD WASH ONLY BUT WE NEED TO SEE IF IT WORKS FIRST BEFORE WE GO THER - IF THATS OK WITH YOU.

THE OTHER THING IS WHEN THE MACHINE STOPS THERE SHOULD BE SOME BEEPING FROM THE MACHINE - NOTE THEM IN ORDER FROM LEFT TO RIGHT WHICH HAS THE ONLY RED LED, WHERE THERES A LIGHT PUT 1 TYO REPRESENT IT - NO LIGHT PUT A 0, POST IT & I WILL SEE WHAT I CAN DO FOR YOU.

FYI - THE LED COLOURS - ARE GGGGGOOR WHEN ON...

Hi, I hope this is what you are after. I switched it on and it started beeping again a few minutes later. The temperature was flashing green on cold and red flashing on hot. The other buttons were flashing green on medium water and flashing green on medium spin. It was still in the first part of the cycle which was the 3rd from the left.

Thanks mate - along the top are 8 leds, when you power the machine up these will light up in the or I gave you, usually when the machine stsrts beeping some of these will come on... These sre the leds I will require to gie you an accurate diagnostic as to what the problem may well be - although I suspect one of the valves of even the RPS may be faulty. Will wait for your comments.

Cold water not pulling into Fisher & Paykel 5.5kg Smart Drive Pride.

Either the cold water inlet solenoid has failed or there is a fault with the electronic control module, Unfortunately the only way to find out is to replace the cold water solenoid and see if it works, if it doesn't then the electronic control board is faulty.

I only have a hose attached to the cold water tap and inlet valve of my Fischer & Paykel top loader washing machine as I only do cold washes, this hadn't been a problem until recently, when th

it could be that the water level got to high and came out of the valve you could try putting a cap on the valve and see if that works and if it does not then it might be a bigger issue.

Hi I am buying a MW512 but only have a cold water supply, does this model have an internal heating system so I can do a warm or hot wash?

Hi - Fisher & Paykels does not come with heaters fitted, the two hot/cold inlets are used in prortion to the settings of the wash cycle in use.

So with a cold tap only you would expect cold wash functions only, if you accidently chose a warm wash the machine will start beeping as there is nothing to bring the temp level to the expected setting.

Hope this helps you choose..

Hi just read your posting. Now have you removed the cold water inlet hose from the machine end and checked to see if the water is coming from the tap and throe the hose?If you have then the fault could be faulty Water Valve,or faulty Control Module. Please reply and confirm whether you have cold water coming from your cold water tap or not and I can guide you throe the repair of this fault.

Fisher & Paykel GW611 Not filling with water

Hi just read your posting.Did you remove any wires to the control module which is located under the top panel when you replaced the bearings. Now did you put the cold inlet hose to the water valve marked with the letter C and the hot to H ?These letters are next to the valves.Have you got the Efficiency option button? Can you select a manual water level instead of just an auto fill?Have you tried to put the machine throe a spin cycle?Do you hear any water coming into the machine at all? Please with additional information to these questions and I am sure we can rectify this problem for you.

Washing machine cycle far too long

Hi Fiona.I believe the cold valve is probably faulty & is not flowing fast Its probably dribbling water in?taking forever to fill.the machine should be giving up & beeping at you if thats the case.If you have a faulty cold valve then switching to warm won't help as the hot valve will close itself off to compensate for the lack of cold water..afterall you have told the machine to fill with warm,,if it cant make warm water because of a faulty cold valve then the hot will decrease to a point where its not letting any water thru..try a hot only wash..if it goes thru wash cycle ok then good chance its cold valve problem.wow i hope that helped.

Water is not filling up.

turn off water
disconnect fill hose from tap
examine screen inside hose end for 'muck' blockage
clean screen
reconnect hose
test washer
if no fill
replace water solenoid valve

note: cold water valve fails first, it gets most use,
if only using cold water, you can simply swap the hot and cold hoses at the tap, and swap the hot and cold electrical connectors on the solenoid valves, the hot solenoid is no the cold one and the washer can be used, cold only, for about as long as it has operated thus far..
