This system was sold with speakers and connecting cables. One cable connects from the main unit to the subwoofer. The rest of the speakers supplied with the system plug into the subwoofer with their special connecting cables. If you don't have the subwoofer and satellite speakers along with the cables, you can't get sound out of this system. There is no built-in amplifier and no way to connect speakers otherwise.

The video connection to your monitor or TV is from the rear panel on the main unit. You can use an s-video cable, composite video (a single cable with RCA plugs) or component video (3 RCA cables), depending on the inputs supplied on the TV. Component video gives best performance if the TV supports it.

You may need to change the connection in the settings to select the cable input. When you go go to Netflix you are essentially going to another input and when you come back you have too get everything back to cable

To clarify, your TV is working correctly, since you get sound and video from all devices - Only your PS3 has no sound or video?

If your PS3 was previously used with regular AV cables (Red/White/Yellow) then you most likely need to do a PS3 video reset t output video over HDMI.

With the PS3 OFF, press and continue holding the power button until it turns on, beeps twice, and then turns back off. Do not release the power button during this process.

You may have to try the video reset a few times if it doesn't work right away.

After video reset, you should get sound and video over HDMI.

try hooking a rca yellow video cord to the adjacent plugs 1 from player to tv video in right next to ps2 input. ps2 is for audio only.

All of a sudden, no sound on PS3, great pic though. Using HDMI cable...have checked all connections, reset PS3, etc. Still no sound! Guy from Sony said my HDMI cable(Monster) could be bad?! No sound, but...

I agree with the guy from Sony, the reason for this is the HDMI cable should support the transfer of audio and video over the same cable, if your only getting video over it, the cable could be defective, or its possible that you have another cable in the spot where speakers should go that is over riding the HDMI.

What exactly is the HDMI cable plugged into? Is it direct from TV to PS3?
If you have a stereo set lying around that supports HDMI - try having it run through that.
Is the TV muted? check if you can get sound while watching normal TV channels.
Worst comes to worst, use RCA Plugs remembering that the composite video is (yellow) and stereo audio is (white and red). You don't need to connect the composite video, but connect the stereo audio.
