The typewriter types different characters than the keys hit in all pitches. The daisy wheel says pica 10. How can I get the typewriter to type the correct keys for that pitch? The typewriter types different characters than the keys hit in all pitches. The daisy wheel says pica 10. I'm not sure exactly what your problem is but if you type a wrong letter press the correction key on the R. side. The key has a "X" inside an arrow pointing left.
Go to NADIST.com click on current models one of the Nakajimas will be the same as yours.
On the L. side of the keyboard is the pitch slide switch be sure that it isn't in PS, if it isn't S'slide it up and down a few times they do get dirty.
The pitch selector switch on the L. side of the keyboard should be in 10 or 12 not PS. Also press down on it and slide it a few times they do get dirty.
Check the "Pitch" selector slide switch on the lhs of the keyboard... it should be on 10, 12 etc position to match the printwheel... NOT in the PS position.
When you press the correcton key it should backspace and lift off the print, if it makes the movement and dosen;t correct check to be sure you have a correctable ribbon (orange or yellow knob), be sure the correction is installed properly dull side facing the paper.
