Hi there, with the canon copier IR3300..i am having dirty printouts as from 9cm of the top of the page.. it prints dirty for 9cm and a paler dirty background until the end of the page.. (at the bottom it prints again clean like at the top..) is it the drum which is causing that dirty background in the middle of the page (let's resume the problem : 9cm clean & 9 cm dirty & 9 cm less dirty & the rest (2.5cm) clean.. please help Joanne

Its caused by the drum unit , it most likely has a scratch or dent in in turn that causes a arc on the drum that makes the lines , get the drum replaced and the problem should be sorted

More information is required like are you using windows 7 or windows 8. Suspect you may have wrong PCL driver. PCL.
Press additional functions on printer keypad. Press report settings on LCD screen. Press Printer on lcd screen then press configuration and press yes to printing configuration page.
Look at the configuration printout to see if you can find the language the printer is using is it PCL3 ,PCL6, PCL5E, PS3 ..
This has to match the driver you are using !
All these drivers are available to download from Cannon but finding the matching driver can be done via trial and error but the configuration page is easier and less painful.
A mismatched driver to printer is possibly the cause of the extra page print.

Hi . You need to make this test . Try to print a report again. But this time open the front door in the middle of printing so the paper will stop between the drum and the fixing unit . The porpoise of this is see if the information is blurred before entering the fixing unit. . Is the information is ok before entering the fixing unit . You need to replace the grease of the fixing heater . If the information is already blurred before entering the fixing unit you need to check the laser unit. Probably dirty mirrors inside that unit .

Hi,
Did you try to print test page from driver properties on PC? Did it came out OK? If yes then you have problems with document that you are trying to print.

Also it can be that you have wrong paper size set in cassete or in printer drivers.

Please be specific, how does print fails?

Did you buy it from a Canon dealer? If you bought a brand new one, it is unformated. You need to have it Flashed with the software to use it. Also, if you are using the copier as a printer you have to have it Flashed for printting as well..... You may have to find some one who has a lap top and works on Canons. Was the eorror code E0601?
