Hotpoint bd32 oven and top oven/grill what output does this have .and does it need 6mm cable connection or can it go on a plug

The grill and oven regulator is faulty and needs to be replaced

check thermostat for open,,,otherwise change element

• If it is a single oven attaching a 13amp plug and connecting it to a socket is fine. If it is a double oven it needs to be connected to a dedicated cooker circuit from your fuse board via a cooker control switch with 6mm twin and earth cable.

you can check the element, just get a volt ohm meter, set to ohm's and make sure it shows a short, otherwise you have an open or bad element.

You need to replace the oven element,, located at the rear of the bottom oven compartment behind a removeable panel.

it seems to me that it is a fan oven and the top element won't heat up you need a new fan oven element. it is a round element that sits behind the back grill surrounding the fan...

Assuming you are talking about the fan oven element, you should be able to feel heat from it , if you are not sure it is working, then you need to remove the rear cover of oven to expose the fan and the element, run it for a couple of minutes, then feel if it is hot, if not, it needs to be replaced.

If the elements 'look' okay, they probably are. The 'infinite control switch' is probably the problem. With out the use of a meter, it's guess work. Unless you can see a connection problem.

keep turning the oven/grill selector past the temperature settings, it feels like it won't go any further but it does!
