Is the filter clean? If not then the fan cannot draw air thru the coils to exhaust moisture.. and will build up and freeze ..

  • Anonymous Aug 23, 2008

Probably the thermocouple then... If it never shuts down..then the only way it can sense temp to know it is at the setting is with the themocouple sensor...When the temp set point equals the feedback it shust off.. similar to a house themostat... Hope that helps

Where can I get my hard drive mended it just ticking and will not work

I've had a pretty good success rate with freezing drives to recover data from a dying/dead drive. Much simpler and cheaper then most other methods of data recovery.
Freezing the drive shrinks everything inside, sometimes freeing up stuck/seized/trapped components, or keeping an overheating component from shutting the drive down right away.
Stick the drive in a ziplock bag(to seal out moisture) in the freezer.
While it's freezing, set everything up to quickly transfer your files off the drive if it does work. After a couple hours in the freezer, plug the drive in and see what it does. It may only work for a few minutes, for hours, or weeks. Pull your data off as fast as you can, if it stops again, re-freeze it and start where you left off. I've frozen drives 3-4 times to get everything off.

My freezer has a different code number;ZFT710FW.I put quite a lot of food into the freezer yesterday and the alarm now keeps sounding,I have put the temperature up but the red light is still flashing...

Red Alarm Indicator Light
Under normal operating conditions, the internal temperature of the freezer will ensure the long-term conservation of the stored food. When such temperature rises above a certain level (-12 °C), the appliance will trigger an acoustic and light alarm. The light alarm is a blink red light (Red Alarm Indicator Light), while the acoustic alarm is an intermittent sound.
You can stop the acoustic alarm by pressing the Acoustic Signal Stop Switch once.

When switching on the freezer for the first time, the Red Alarm Indicator Light will blink until the internal temperature has reached a level required for the safe conservation of frozen food.

Fast Freeze function
If more than 3-4 kg of food is to be frozen:
1. Press the Fast Freeze Switch for 2-3 seconds to activate the fast-freeze function 6-24 hours before placing the fresh food in the freezer, the Yellow Fast Freeze Indicator Light will illuminate. The compressor will now run continuously, to ensure that the fresh food is frozen as quickly as possible.
2. It is possible to deactivate the function at any time by pressing the Fast Freeze Switch for 2-3 seconds.
3. Place the foods in the freezing compartments (indicated with graphics).
4. Once the food is completely frozen (it may take up to 24 hours) you can manually switch off the fastfreeze function by pressing the Fast Freeze Switch for 2- 3 seconds and the Yellow Fast Freeze Indicator light will also go out.
5. Move frozen food from the freezing compartments into the other compartments (storing compartments) to make room for another freezing.

If the Fast Freeze Switch is accidentally left on, the fast-freeze function will be automatically switched off 48 hours later. The Yellow Fast Freeze Indicator light will also go out.

I believe that you all understand. If you intend to freeze larger amount of food then certainly a few hours before some shopping switch on the fast freeze function.

I have a Zanussi Freezer Model ZFT710FW. The alam and red light occasionally go off, although everthing appears OK. Temp OK, door seal looks good, etc. After some time the red light goes off of its own...

Freezer not freezing on side by side fridge

Try turning the unit off and leaving the door open for half a day or more in case there is ice clogging something somewhere? If there is no cooling going on whatsoever and fan/s and compressor are running it sounds like a gas leak has devaloped or the compressor has stopped working correctly. If the compressor has stopped then possibly the controll circuitry to it has a problem.

Hope this might help

My water dispenser doesn't work, suddenly. It looks like it is frozen but the temperature setting is on Normal and has not ever changed. How is it suddenly freezing up?

Water line freezing is quite common, sometimes even if there is no fault. Try defrosting the unit completely.

If the problem happens again, then check temp settings, thermostat and defrost system.

Sub-Zero 550 - freezer unit is chilling, but not freezing

Ice maker was intermittent at best - ice was often just a shell. After two failures to correct we had the ice maker (a Whirlpool - on a Sub Zero - Go figure) replaced. Then the paddle that detects the ice level broke. Next step a new GE.

Freezer bowl not frozen!

Preparing the Freezer Bowl:
The freezer bowl must be completely frozen before you begin your recipe. The length of time needed to reach the frozen state depends on how cold your freezer is – for best results, place the bowl to the rear of your freezer where it is coldest. In general, freezing time is between 6 hours and 22 hours. To determine whether the bowl is completely frozen, shake it. If you do not hear liquid moving, the cooling liquid is frozen. For the most convenience, leave your freezer bowl in the freezer at all times so you can take it out any time for immediate use.

Features and Benefits:
  • Freezer Bowl – The double insulated freezer bowl contains a cooling liquid between the bowl walls to create fast and even freezing. In general, the required freezing time of the bowl is 6 to 22 hours before use. Additional freezer bowls are available separately for making double batches or different flavors without interruption. For additional information on preparing the freezer bowl for use, please see below.
  • Base and Motor Unit – The base contains a heavy-duty motor that is strong enough to handle everything from thick, rich ice creams to smooth frozen yogurts to slushy frozen drinks . The base unit features a generously sized on/off switch, rubber feet to prevent slipping and keep the unit stationary while in use as well as cord storage to keep counters neat and safe when the unit is not is use.
  • Lid with Ingredient Spout – The easy-lock, transparent lid secures to the base with a simple turn, allowing you to watch the freezing process as it progresses. An ingredient spout at the top of the lid is generously sized for pouring in ingredients and ideal for adding nuts, fresh fruit, candy pieces and more without interruption the freezing cycle.
  • Mixing Arm – The mixing arm mixes and aerates your frozen desserts and drinks, incorporating and blending all ingredients thoroughly.
  • Instruction/Recipe Book - The included instruction and recipe booklet helps you get started with over 30 recipes and variations for ice creams, sherbets, sorbets, frozen yogurts and frozen drinks.
