Lightning loves logic boards. You can remove the board and check for missing traces on the printed circuit. Unfortunately this is fairly common.

Auto garage door opens will not close not the sensors

Look at the back of the motor unit and see if that little light is flashing a code. Post the code.

I had a lightening strike at my home. Since then, the garage door does not function with wall switch or remotes. when i press the switch, light comes ON on the door opener and i hear a click but nothing...

Well, I don't think that disconnecting the garage door from the garage door opener would affect function.

The lightning strike could have destroyed the circuitry inside the garage door opener, seeing that it won't operate with the wall switch or remotes.

It's likely that a board was fried by the lightning which would render the garage door inoperable.

Champion Liftmaster Garage will not open or close. Just clicks

Pull the logic board and check for burnt or missing traces on the printed circuit. I would guess at an estimate of $125.00 but don't even know where you live.

Same problem same day

Unfortunately there isn't a reset switch but I would pull the logic board and look for burnt or missing traces on the printed circuit board. Electronics do not like lightning.

My Craftsman Garage Door opener stopped working.

The most common part to go bad in these openers when lighting hits them is the logic board. Look for a white and black label that has your model number on it. Go to http://www.usdoorcontrol.com/manufacturers-other.html and find the newest revision board that is made. Repairing this problem is easy.

Sears 1/2hp thinks it is not all the way up and will not go down

It is really a common problem for lightning or electrical surges to take out the logic board. Big expense too.

Chamberlain Craftsman garage door opener

Replace the logic board. I have seen this problem in the field. More often than not it's due to power surge or lightning strike.

Opener has power but does not open.

The surge probably knocked out one (or more) of the safety sensors.
There may also be a fault on any control board involved.

Each of these components (including the main drive motor) will need checking that they are still working correctly.

Only by a process of elimination will you find the fault. This can be done by checking the outputs of each sensor in turn, and testing operation.

Make sure the system is isolated before atempting this, and ensure a safe working practice is followed.
It's not worth losing fingers over!

Once the fault is found, do not use untill a replacement is fitted.

Hope this helps.
