The shaft is tapered and will have a bolt in the center, loosen the bolt enough so you can tap on the end of the bolt. This should release the shaft, if not there should be 2 hole that you can thread a bolt into to push the connection apart.

How do I pull the motor from the generator assembly?

You have to put a wrench on the rotor where it sticks out of the bell housing and another wrench on the flywheel with a tool that miller makes to bolt onto the flywheel. Break it loose and then pull the engine and rotor as one piece off the welder. Then unscrew the rotor the rest of the way and remove it.

Why does my miller bobcat welder generator not stay at an idle when swithed to low idle, insted it goes back and forth to high then to low idle?

The unit may need recalibrating the idle/run setting. Instructions found in manual at 8-6 (subaru engine) and 9-5 (kohler). Idle speed around 2200rpm. Simple screw adjustment. PDF manual here :- http://www.millerwelds.com/om/o4434l_mil.pdf

Why miller bobcat 250 runs great and generator works but wont weld fuses are good ?

If your Miller Bobcat 250 runs great, the generator works, but the welder will not weld, even though the fuses are good, it could be caused by a few different things. Here are a few things you can try to fix the issue:
  1. Check the welding settings, make sure they are appropriate for the type of welding you are doing. Make sure the voltage and amperage are set correctly.
  2. Check the ground connection, make sure it's clean and tight. The ground connection must be secure for stable welding.
  3. Inspect the welding cables and make sure they are in good condition and that the connections are tight.
  4. Check the welding gun and make sure it's clean and in good condition.
  5. Check the main contactor and make sure it's engaging and disconnecting properly.
  6. Check the main circuit breaker and make sure it's not tripped.
  7. Check the power output of the generator and make sure it's within the correct range.
  8. Check the control circuit and make sure that it's not damaged or malfunctioning.
It's important to check the manual of the welder for troubleshoot steps and also check the warranty of the welder and see if it's still covered by the manufacturer. If you are not able to find the problem or if you are not familiar with welding equipment, it's best to take your welder to a qualified Miller Electric welder repair service center, they will be able to diagnose and fix the issue.

Miller bobcat on propane surges when turned to idle

It might be missing a stabilizing spring on the the throttle shaft to eliminate accumulated play in the components.

Otherwise if no smell of leaking LP is noted, there may be a small vacuum leak in the induction system- can be found with carb cleaner on an idling engine- the area of such a leak when sprayed will smooth out the idle and speed it up momentarily.

If you do smell LP, the regulator likely needs repair or a hose needs replacement..
