Just copy the videos/movies on your tablet to a USB stick. Put the USB stick in your PS3, when you see the content on media player, copy it and put it in the video file on the PS3 and enjoy. If you are trying to use the tablet as your monitor..check out this video https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=94x80BV-oD4

I'm trying to play movies from my USB port, but when I plug it I can't .... My LG 47" TV will recognize and open the flash drive, but shows empty.
If supported by your tv simple put a movie in the root of the USB stick
in .avi or .dvix format then put stick in the tv and it would start the usb player function
The USB port on the TV might not have enough power to power the external hard drive.
Can you try putting a movie on a USB memory stick instead, and see if that works?
First, try using a different USB stick. If that doesn't fix the problem then your new tv is either faulty or the tv operating system has a bug.
Check the LG website in your country to see whether there are any firmware updates available. If not, then return the tv for refund or exchange, but make sure to try your USB drive on any replacement set in store as it's highly likely to be a bug in your model which will affect all of the other examples as well.
