The Start/Resume light is flashing

This flashing light indicates that your cycle or start-up was interrupted.
Possible causes: The door opened during the cycle, or the power was interrupted.
To resume operation: Make sure the door is closed, and press Start/Resume.

The Clean light is flashing

You should call for service if the Clean light is flashing and the machine is inoperable. It is normal if the Clean light stays on after the cycle is complete. The Clean light is an indication that the dishwasher has been run and that the dishes inside it are clean. Once the door is opened after the cycle is complete, the light will shut off.

The lights are rapidly flashing

Any key that gets stuck will rapidly flash. Press the key a few times in order to release it or press Cancel.

The Rinse Only light is rapidly flashing

If multiple keys are stuck, the Rinse Only light will flash. Press each key, one at a time, to release the stuck keys, or press cancel.

'low rinse' stuck on with full rinse aid, can't start wash cycle

Actually, if you look closely at that Low Rinse button or emblem, you will see a little lock symbol ABOVE the words "Low Rinse", and I'll bet THAT light is the one that is on. Basically, you have the control lock (or child-lock) turned on. To turn it off, you have to press and hold the SANITIZE button for 3 to 5 seconds until that light goes off. Now your dishwasher will work!

I am trying to start a cyle and everytime i push the cycle button it does not light up and the quick rinse button comes on and flashes nothing works at all if i push heavy wash it comes on and nothing...

You haven't told me how many times the light flashes, but I will take a guess that this is an error code associated with the water entering the machine being too cool. I believe the machine expects the water to enter at 110 degrees F (43 Degrees C).

To clear the error, press "Heated Dry" then release, then press "Normal Wash" then release and repeat this sequence until all the lights on the machine go solid green. Once this happens, hit ""Cancel" and the machine will reset.

The fix for the root of the problem is to increase the temperature of the incoming water in future (Turn up your water heater temperature a little)

After selecting a program, the dishwasher beeps for a while and the 3 buttons on the left flash too. Program wont start, water wont fill and nothing happens. THe lights keep flashing but the beeps stop for...

Basically the dishwasher is telling you there is a fault - Not so useful I know! Plug out the machine and leave it for five minutes and see will it reset. If that does not work, you will need to reset it manually. To do this consult the manual. If you don't have a manual, go to http://www.hotpointservice.co.uk/hs/pages/manual/manualSearch.do and down load one. Good luck!

I have a kenmore dishwasher. While it was in the

hi...
If the cycle doesn't complete, check these....
Water-heating cycle Many dishwashers heat the wash and/or rinse water to a higher temperature, as the cycle calls for it. In these cycles, the dishwasher pauses after it has filled with water, waiting for the water to reach the pre-set temperature. What happens next, depends, as follows:

  • On some units, the pause is timed and the unit continues after the allotted time.

  • On others, the cycle can't continue until the water reaches the higher temperature. If you have this type of dishwasher and the water isn't being heated (say, because of a problem with the heating element or thermostat), after the unit stops at the heating cycle, it never continues. When you repair the heating-system problem, the "cycle problem" is fixed too.

Timer Timers don't often fail. But if every other part of the dishwasher seems to be working properly and the timer knob seems to be stuck in one place--doing one function continuously--the timer may be at fault. Dishwasher timers can't be repaired. If yours is defective, replace it.

if still it doesn't fix your problem then see whether any error codes are generated....
F1 Water heating fault, selected temperature not reached within 60 minutes · Incoming water temperature too cool
· Heating element burned out
· Thermostat defective F2 High water level · Plugged/Bad water pump
· Defective water inlet valve F3 Thermistor fault · Open thermistor
· Bad wiring to thermistor F4 Fault with water fill (only on machines with level-controlled fill)

Note: Lights blinking, pump running and controls dead indicates an over fill fault 1. Disconnect the power to the unit

2. Remove the lower access panels and check the tray under the dishwasher (you will probably find it is full of water)

3. Use a towel or a sponge to remove the water

4. There is a float that should stop the operation of the dishwasher and run the pump if water is in this tray. Check this pump to see if it is functional

5. Test the dishwasher

6. If there are no leaks from the dishwasher into the pan, check the drain hose under the sink

7. THE DRAIN HOSE MUST RUN UP TO THE TOP OF THE UNDERSIDE OF THE COUNTERTOP THEN DOWN TO THE DRAIN. (If the hose is not set up like this, water from the sink drain will flow into the dishwasher and overfill the tray

*Faults may vary by model. Use this as a general guide.
i think these details would definitely help you.....thank you...

Kenmore Elite dishwasher Options light up but nothing runs.

The blinking "clean light" is a common problem with some of the Kenmore and Whirlpool models dishwashers.
The problem is usually attributed to water supply temperatures being too low when filling.

Apparently, there are some issues with the temperature sensing circuits in some dishwashers that causes an error code to be generated if a certain water temperature is not achieved in a specified time interval (this time may differ between models).
There is a reset sequence that you can try to clear the fault.
Push the NORMAL WASH then HEATED DRY buttons in that sequence two to three times.
The unit will enter diagnostics mode, but can be stopped by pressing the CANCEL button.
This will clear any existing faults and should return the dishwasher to normal operation.

To keep the fault from returning, it is recommended that you run your hot water faucet in the kitchen until it runs hot BEFORE you start the dishwasher.
This will heat the water in the supply line for the dishwasher (most dishwashers are fed from the kitchen sink supply line).

The theory is that if you fill the dishwasher with hot water from the start of the wash cycle instead of the cool water that is normally in the lines (especially if you have a hot water tank located far away from the kitchen), this should satisfy the requirements of the temperature sensing circuits.
If the fault reappears, there should be a tech sheet located inside the lower panel under the door that explains what the fault is.
The flashing light will be a series of flashes, followed by a pause.
If you indeed have a component problem, it will depend on the number of flashing lights in the sequence.
Refer to the tech sheet to determine WHAT component is affected and how to troubleshoot.

Start flashes and will not begin wash cycle

My dishwasher Model is 665 15891790 and the serie #FG3907905. After programing my dishwasher and pressing the start button, it fills with water, but when it is due to start the sensing light comes on. I have notice that the ring under the watering arm on the bottom of the machine seams to be cracked. Could that be the problem for the machine not starting its' cycle. Thank you.

Lights flash but wont start

If the dishwasher is still under warranty, best thing will be to conntact for manufacturer service !! The problem you describe could be cause off : * A Defective switch level that doesn't "shows" that there is enough water in the dishwather and therefore will prevent program's advance. * A defective heater- If water will not reach need temperature it will prevent program's advance as well. * Defective timer - Dishwasher's heart. In case your washer is over its warranty period and you would like to solve your problem by yourself, let me know and I will instruct you step by step how to to find the defective part and how to fix it. Good luck !
