My SCH-a930 won't charge. I still have battery life, and the phone works fine, but the phone won't charge. I have tried multiple wall outlets. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

Hi,
Please, try using another charger with the phone.
If the problem continues, get a screw driver, unscrew the phone and bring the charging port out. The charging port is at the tail end of the phone.
Clean the surface of the panel where the charging port contact the panel with a spirit and allow it to dry for 30 minute. Couple back the phone and i am sure the charging phone will work fine.

Try using rubbing alcohol to clean the battery or where the charger goes in the phone. If you have a car charger then try using it. If that works and the wall charger still don't then it is probably the charger and needs to be replaced. The phone may have a short in it for where the charger goes. Or it could be the battery. But if the battery is charged or still holding charge it more than likely is the charger itself or a short in the phone.

Production of this tester has been discontinued by the manufacturer.

I read a review of this tester, and that person cautioned on the tool's short battery life. He said you need to use high capacity NiMH batteries. He says he's lucky to get an hour of life out of a freshly charged set. Furthermore, the tool does not like to even power up if there is less than a 3/4 charge left of the batteries. He recommended removing the batteries when done using the tool and placing them in a smart charger until needed again. ALL NiMH batteries self discharge even when not in use. You should always have and install freshly charged batteries when you need to use the tool.

If the batteries are old (had many recharge cycles) or were not charged in a smart charger the useful life may have become significantly reduced and in need of replacement.

2nd attempt----my a930 cell phone continues to discharge prematurally. Can get only a 2-4 hour charge. Batteries have been replaced. Do I need a software update ??

1. What type of battery do you have is it a Lithium Ion or Ni Cad battery, Ni Cad batteries need to be completely discharged and then charged back up again, if its a Lithium Ion, your battery has memory cells in it, where it technically doesn't matter when you do it...but
2. Charging habbits - How are you charging your phone, you should charge the phone when you first get it for a good 8-10 hours, the first charge is the most important, after that depending on what type of battery you have (see above) let it die and then charge it up for about 8 hours again, do this for about a week you should start to see significant difference.

Also are you using a car charger or a wall charger, car chargers are NOT the best way to charge your phone, they used to get the job done, but not a perminate solution

Charge port is dead. I plug in the battery charge chord or the car charger and the phone doesn't respond.

You have tried to charge in different ways and still the phon is not responding becuase of some problem in charge pin in the mobile.Contact your nearest vendor they ll change the pin for you and the mobile will get the input(charge flow)
