Most of the jumpstarter and portable power packs using a sealed lead acid battery can be charged from the car cigar lighter with the lead usually supplied or with the mains power charging adaptor, also usually supplied.
Most such units are similar in design and function but slight variations between different manufacture mean it is wise to consult the instruction manual before proceeding, though such differences aren't challenging to folk who are familiar with them.
One word of caution - such units can give reliable service for years if they are kept fully charged and used considerately, but leave it discharged or semi-discharged and it can be ruined in a month or short circuit the battery leads or connect it wrongly and it can be ruined in a second.
The rule is recharge after every use and if not used then check the state and recharge if necessary every month or two.
Plug in the cord with the switch off. If the battery is still good in the unit then it will take a full day to charge. If you charge it for a full day and you still have nothing the battery is bad. If this is a new unit, check to see if it is under warranty.
I'm having the same problem where it won't take a charged. If you left it with a dead battery for say 6 months, it probably ruined the battery. You should have a charger for house current and car voltage charger. I guess your dead in the battery like me. I'm taking it to Battery Plus to check it out. It only had a 1 year limited warranty. Good Luck.
Hi, usually after you drain the unit down it will take up to 4 hours for it to charge up 100%. but do not leave it on the charger all the time when not in use because this decreases battery life.
To recharge this unit at home use the AC charging adapter. Plug one end of the adapter into the AC/DC charger input port. Which is marked as number 7 on the image below. Then plug the other end of the adapter into a standard wall outlet. The charging port is located on the front of your power center and looks like the image below. If you did not get an AC charging adapter with your power center check the manual to see exactly what type you need. You will need to know the Voltage and AMPs of the adapter. Go to Radio Shack or an electronics store and purchase an adapter. It is very important that you make sure you get the right one. Your manual should tell you how many hours it takes to completely charge your power center.
most speakers use a 5-12 volt DC power supply, you can get an adjustable power supply from radio shack which can be used as a replacement for your power supply. Just look on your spaeker unit for the voltage and current and hand these readings to the sales person and they should be able to show you a power supply that can be used in its place.
