hi,
lens error occur normally when it fell or the lens shaken, if so open the camera, take the lens unit out, disassemble the lens unit, then fix it again properly. example below:
(this is not the told model)
Stuck automatic lens covers are fairly. But usually it's very easy to fix, without even opening the camera. See this link for troubleshooting steps for this problem.
Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.
Today's digital cameras are smart. They won't operation if the lens cover is in place (or closed), nor if there is no memory card in place. So ...
Check that the lens cover is "open" or removed. (Open and close several times to be sure it's not stuck or jammed.)
Then check that you have a memory card inserted, AND that it is properly formated (that is, that it is prepared to record images; see your instruction manual for details.
Sounds like the lens mechanism is stuck - mine does the same thing after my 2 year old dropped it on the cement. Looking for a replacement lens now, but not having much luck. Read the previous posts for other solutions. Good luck!
