The USB function on Goodmans LCD TVs allows you to play media files stored on a USB storage device. This function may not be available on all Goodmans LCD TVs and the specific features and compatibility will depend on the model of your TV. To use the USB function, you typically need to connect your USB storage device to the TV using a USB cable.
To access the USB function, you will need to navigate to the Input or Source menu on your TV and select the USB option. Once selected, you will be able to browse the contents of your USB device and play the media files stored on it. The supported file formats and the maximum size of the files that can be played will depend on the specifications of your TV.
If you are unable to find the USB function on your Goodmans LCD TV, it is possible that it is not available on your specific model. I would recommend checking the user manual or contacting Goodmans customer support for further assistance.
If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Line, faults & possible causes to LCD screen are given with illustrations. You can get an idea about the fault to an extent.
The basics of the tv are plug it in, put the cable on and set it cable input source, it should then scan the channels and you will have your functioning tv. However there are a few more steps than that so it is probably better you have the manual. This link should be direct to the pdf version of the user manual. It isn't the exact manual but the one for the smaller version of your tv.
If you find that it isn't the right one just go to http://www.goodmans.co.uk and click on tv's then find your model click on that and along the right side you should see a link to the user setup guide.
You can also click on the contact us button and get the phone number and the email link to customer support.
Look at the power supply to see if anyhting burnt, fuse, bad capacitors. I doubt that the power cord is bad, the same size fuse should be used as the original one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague
I'm having the same problem with the same TV that I bought my daughter for Christmas.
I haven't tried this myself yet, but it is suggested on another website that the TV is switching on to look for software updates during the night. Apparently you can switch the auto-update feature off, which fixes the issue.
