You know, it's really normal to touch it hot on the door side.
Because it has heater to eliminate moist build up that can cause rust.
Check the drain pan (that is full of water) for clogged.
Unclog it using flexible solid wire and insert it on drain pan tube.
After that, those leak will be minimize.
Thanks for asking.

The left door isn't closing with the magnet. (It isn't a rubber hinge/strip problem) It is the bumper inside at the top which isn't gliding over the stop on the door side

Try cleaning both surfaces with a bit of dish detergent on a damp sponge, to remove any sticky stuff, then apply a burst of silicone spray. That's what worked on our fridge when the freezer door became balky.

Old whirlpool upright freezer. door left slightly ajar.light on inside. Rubber around door warm. won't seal.some things starting to thaw.shut door.should I do anything else

Seal needs to be replaced around door. Make sure magnetic strip is tight against sides of refrigerator, even if you have to cut the outside so it lays flat against the sides.

GE side by side. Water leaking from bottom of freezer door. Fridge is cold. Freezer is fine. Ice maker fine. Only problem is the leaking water

Water leaking from bottom of freezer door.
It means that the freezer door is not closed will see the rubber frame it maybe broken some where or twisted .
If it's broken it must be changed but if it's twisted you can use some medical cotton roll it by your hands like a pen and insert it behind the frame.
I hope that help you. so sorry for my bad English.

Why does it get very hot around the door's perimeter?

The door is heated so it doesn't stick shut with ice. It may be that the condenser is clogged or the fan isn't running, causing excessive heat in the strip. Clean the condenser thoroughly and check the fan.

Freezer door does not have the vacuum suction that it did have

Check the door is square to the frame and no shelves are sticking out stopping the door from closing properly. The seal should be magnetic and stick to the frame quite well.Check no metal strips have come off so the magnetic seal isn't attaching to the frame

Kenmore side by side water leaking from freezer

You can buy a kit from whirlpool. In the kit is a metal tab that mounts onto the defrost heater. It is long enough to go into the hole. When the heater comes on for defrost the heat transfers down to the hole and keeps it from getting plugged up with ice. Part number 819043

Horizontal fridge freezer - Freezer over-heating

The door frame has a heater to stop ice forming around frame. This is normal. You don't notice it when freezer is cold. The freezer should start working again.

Water leak

probably the defrost drain blocked. remove back panel from inside freezer and melt ice off with hairdryer and follow up with hot water till water flows away freely.
you may find all the pipework iced up and if so you have a problem with defrost system.
an alternative way is to switch off for 24 hours and leave doors open

Outside surfaces of freezer very hot to touch

it should be warm to the touch but not so hot you cant. and also depending on how long the freezer is running and how warm it is where the freezer is will effect how hot the outside is. the reason the outside of the freezer is hot is because thats how the freezer releses its heat from the refrigerant. the longer it runs or the harder it has to work the more heat it has to hive off. so unless the freezer is not cooling there is nothing to worry about.
