The problem isn't the burner. You need karaoke software to burn and view cdg files. Below is a link to free karaoke software. Install the software (or a software package of your choosing) and re-burn your files. Karaoke Builder
To open this drive you can open My Computer and right click your DVD drive and select eject. You can also open any CD/DVD drive by taking a paper clip (or something the size of one) and inserting it inside the tiny pinhole near the eject button on the drive.
try to re-install the driver, if it can read DVD's means that your optic lens are ok and the mechanical parts are fine,it is just the software problem, Re-install your driver
It sounds like you don't have the proper driver installed for that device. Without the appropriate driver your software will not be able communicate with the device properly.
What is happening is that the dvdrom firmware or the laser is failing and cannot read the disc; and because the pc is using all the system resources trying to do so; it appears that you cannot get anything to run, making it seem as if the hard drive is faulty also, though not the case.
You will need to replace the drive if this is a common occurance, as the life of a dvd drive nowadays dependant on use is aprox 2 years, because as the prices come down so does the quality of the laser required to burn and read discs.
I Have A : HL-DT-ST- DVD-RAM GSA-H22N DVD Burner That Works Fine With (CD Burning/ Reading) & (Data Burning/ Reading) But I Have A Very WIERD Problem With The DVD : Here I Go, When I Use Any Program To Burn DVD Like Nero, DVD Shrink Etc.. (It Appears That) The Movie Is Burning Well, Because In The Burning Process It Doesn't Says Something Like:Bad Disc, Not Succefully Burned Or Any Sign That The DVD Burner Is Damaged , Also When It Finish Recording You Can See The Data Burned In The Disc By The Lines It Forms BUT !! I Don't Know WHY The Fu$%@@ , When You Test The Movie In Any DVD Player , Comp OR Whatever THE MOVIE DOESN'T WORK.
