The power adapter is bad. What are the power requirements for this unit i.e visioneer 9220 USB scanner

For future references, simply take the manufacturer, the model and type download driver at the end of it, and place in Google Search. Then, MAKE SURE the link you follow starts with the manufacturer's website. Best of luck! Hope this helps...

The electronics have failed, to repair you must replace main logic board, and.or the USB interface board, that's what usually "Blows" in any event.

Look for the fiber strip along the bottom of the scanner inside the glass. Clean it and the mirror-like thing on the carriage above it. These things work together to encode and decode. Dirt drives them nuts.

If you are using Paper Port Software, click Acquire Twain Device

Dirty USB port. Try another Port. One of the 4 contacts is not making connection.

I had that problem. Based on some info about the Lexmark X85 printer, I began looking for the fiber optic strip. It lies at the bottom and stretches about halfway. It's about two inches wide and hard to see because it is virtually part of the case. I cleaned it several times. Getting the case off was a pain. That didn't quite work but then, just about the time I had given up, I took the scanner off my recycle pile and gave it one more shot. This time, I cleaned the fiber optic strip and then took the carriage apart and found the glass mirror-like thing that glides along the strip. Cleaning that did the trick. It is working again.

The scanner bulb is getting to hot. Check power adapter voltage output or replace if is getting to hot

Hi,
the problem could be the cabling between the scanner and the Computer itself.
Other than that the lamp is possibly faulty or on the way out.
try uninstalling and re-installing the scanner.
Also check that the AC adaptor is,nt overheating, unplug for an hour and then retry setting it up.

time for a new scanner. these are cheap units and sounds like your lamp is going.

If there isn't any light..........it means that the power adapter has bit the dust or the lite has burned out. Does the scanner light come on? There is probably a second hand shop somewhere around that has a used replacement real cheap.... 12 volt DC, 1.25 amp w/ the center being +. Or you can take it to a shop and have them check it out to see if it is putting out voltage... it will read 50% more than 12 vdc if it is still good.
