I have an iPhone 3G and I also have an email account with network solutions. I access (using my computer) the email account from the web only.
My emaill address on the account is [email protected] and  I'm trying to configure the email on the iPhone so I can go directly to the email account.
Any ideas? Network solutions can't help (they gave me lots of settings to try and spent time on the phone with me) nor can Apple.
Thanks for any help.
Bob
So I had the same problem using a Network Solutions mail account and got it working. Here is what I did:
Name: Whatever you want
Address: [email protected] (user specific) Must include the @domain
Description: same as above
INCOMING MAIL SERVER
User Name: [email protected] (user specific) Must include the @domain
password: password
OUTGOING MAIL SERVER
Host name: smtp.domain.com
Username:no entry
password:no entry
At message that SSL failed select YES to continue without using SSL should get message twice (incoming & outgoing server tests)
Made no changes to Authentication (default-password) or Server port (default-25)
Came up and began to load mail instantly.Sent test mail and all is good.
Had exactly the same problem getting my Network Solutions account to work on my iphone 3GS but this helped
http://www.networksolutions.com/support/assets/Email-Support/Mobile-Setup/iphonesetup.pdf
I
found that after the first step where you hit "save" I was not
selecting POP at the top of the screen but rather leaving it on IMAP
which is default. Hope this works for you all
I had this problem, only fix was to disable SSL on send and receive. Not sure but probably means I need a SSL certificate for my site to be able to use SSL, In particular settings similar to the following worked:
Name : Bob Smith
Address: [email protected]
Descriotion: Bob Smith
Host Name: mail.smith.com
User Name: [email protected]
Password: ........
SMTP: Primary server ON
Host: mail.smith.com
User Name: [email protected]
Password: ........
Authentication: Password
Use SSL: OFF
Server Port: 587
Advanced: Remove: After 1 week
Use SSL: OFF
Authentication: MSD Challenge Response
Delete from Server: When removed from inbox
Server Port: 110
Not sure if anyone has posted the fix. Here is how I was able to send e-mail through my Network Solutions account. Under your specified e-mail account there is an option for "Outgoing Mail Server". Select this setting and you should see your outbound smtp server listed under "Primary Server". Click on this setting and change the "Server Port" from 587 (Port 587 is reserved for email message submission) to port 25.
You should not be able now send e-mail.
Cheers!

To all the people who replied so far: The original question has nothing to do with setting up the iPad's email client. Rather, it has to do with accessing the web mail client that Netsol provides. Apparently the version of Safari that installed on iPad does not work with Network Solutions web mail, which appears to me to be highly Java-based and/or based on other scripting languages--much more coded than any other web mail system I've used. Network Solutions' web mail works fine on Safari running on a Mac. Obviously, Safari on an iPad is a different (scaled down, perhaps?) beast.
Anyway, there's no solution I've found to using Netsol's web mail on an iPad. However, configuring the iPad mail client works fine, as many previous answerers to this question have already attested to.

I have the same problem with my iPod Touch, so obviously this is a problem between Apple and Network Solutions and the way their respective hardware talks to each other. For what it's worth, I was able to SEND mail through my network solutions acct. using the iTouch, but not receive.
I tried all the posted fixes and had no luck. But when I called Network Solutions finally at 1-800-333-7680, they were very helpful and got me up and running quickly. I didn't write down all the steps so I can't post, but there were several not covered in the solutions posted.

Ok Here's what I did to resolve the problem...
This from network solutions plus the steps that i followed. The phone auto detected the ports settings. It automatically will atempt authenticate using ssl. once it failed it asked would i like to try not using ssl i selected yes. Note had to that twice. Then it worked like a champ
Good luck...

Thank you for choosing Network Solutions.
If you can take advantage of a nearby wireless hub, you'll have much better speed than when you're on a cell-phone data network... but even without wireless, you can still browse, email, work and play via the EDGE or 3G cell-phone network.

Me too! Anybody have any idea on this???
Mine worked for a short time but then I inadvertently deleted the account from my iPhone and now I can't get it set up again.
Please help!
I can receive email on this account, but I can send.Â
I have the same problem. I tried changing the port as Jimmy suggested, but still get an error message saying that the recipient email address is invalid, which it isn't. I've tried sending messages to a variety of accounts and keep getting the same error. Any ideas? Thanks so much for your help!
And me too! I'm having the same problem as well. I setup my new 3G iPhone with the same settings that were in my 2G iPhone but my 3G won't receive or send emails. I have several Network Solutions email accounts along with a 1and1.com account and a godaddy.com account. The 1and1 account along with the godaddy account work just fine, it's just those Network Solutions email accounts that still aren't working....HELP!!!
