Maytag Dryer and FE code means power source "Frequency Error".
Invalid power... you will need a electrican to come out the power is not wired up right.

I would replace the wall receptacle before buying any dryer parts
Hope this helps (remember to rate and comment this answer).

My maytag neptune front load dryer model #MDE9700AYW shows a T5 code and will not heat.

Check to see if your thermistor is bad by measure the resistance. It should be 10K Ohms at room temperature.
If it's bad, replace it BUT you have to CLEAR to error code.
1. Enter to Service Mode by press CHIME and TEMPERATURE keys for 3 seconds or until 3 beeps are heard.
2. Access Diagnostic Codes by pressing WRINKLE PREVENT. A d will be displayed. Rotate the CYCLE SELECTOR KNOB in either direction to read it.
3. Press SENSOR DRY and TIME keys for 3 seconds to clear it.
4. Power OFF to exit Service Mode
5. Power ON

Upside down letter F and #5

does it look like this? t5 or ts could be a thermistor code.if you changed out the thermistor you most likely have a bad computer board.there should be a tech sheet in the machine usually in the top console. here's something that might help http://mikemerrittmotors.yuku.com/topic/2255 the machine doesn't run is that correct?i would check the obvious things, open the door and push in on the door switch and make sure that's working correctly,it should click when you push it in,there's a switch on the belt pulley,if the belt broke the dryer won't start, then check the thermal fuse, the thermistor and if they all check good then you have a bad computer board.just have to get in there with a meter and start reading out parts, also make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer, you can check it at the block where the cord connects to the dryer, after that unplug it and check all the other parts for continuity and you have to remove at least one wire off of the part you're checking.also here's the sears site so you can look up your parts if you don't have this site already. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Maytag-Parts/Dryer-Parts/Model-MDE9700AYW/3048/0151200?pathTaken=&prst=0&shdMod=MDE9700AYW good luck and wish i could help you out more

Is there something else i can use to replace the felt seal without buying a whole new drum on a maytag neptune model MDE9700AYW

Hello,
On older maytag dryer's the felt seal wasa seperate part and not part of the drum..the problem is i do not know if the drum on the newer and older dryers is the same diameter they look similar in size but if it isn't exactly right may leave a gap where the clothes will get caught in...however the part number for that seperate felt seal is 314820

What is the code upside down F and a 5 ?

It is a TS error, I thought the same as you that it was aT5...lol...Anyways it is either the Thermester or the controller board. If you can afford it get a tech out there so they can diagnosis the problem ASAP. We didn't and ended up buying a new Thermester and our old one was just fine, it was the controller board that was dead since we put wet cloths on top of the dyer and the water leaked down on the board.....Wont be doin that again... :^)

The dryer will not heat up to dry clothes

youve probably got a bad heating element, also make sure air is blowing out back of dryer to the outside of house if its plugged it will cause element to break good luck
