Try this

With the scanner off, press and hold the 2, 9, and HOLD keys. While still holding them down, power on the scanner. Continue to hold the 2, 9, and HOLD keys until the display says CLEAR.

Also look on the back for a small hole marked Reset.

From what I read, this unit only broadcasts weather unless you have an antenna.

Factory reset!

If you have forgotten the password to unlock X500,you need to reset the phone also it will erase all the user personal information. I believe your talking about the Lucid VS840. If so, you can try two things. 1. You should be able to use your grandsons google act username and password to unlock. Or 2. Do a factory reset. And this is how. Turn off the phone > Hold and Press Power keys + Volume down key at the same time for about 12 seconds > Release keys at "Permanently Erase User Data & Reset Settings?" > Press Power key to comfirm > Press Power key again, then just wait till the reset / master / hard reset finish it process. Try a soft reset:
- Key in *#7780#* and press dial - a security code is requested
- Key in the default security code, 12345
This resets the phone to factory settings but keeps personal data.

if you forgot your unlock code and are not able to unlock it any more i believe that your only option is to


To Manually Reset
If there are significant problems with your device or you are not able to follow the steps above please use the following process to manually reset the phone:

Default security code is 12345
if you can not insert this code use *#7370# then insert 12345 to reset your phone, the setting will restore to factory setting
the other way to restore factory setting is by
Turns off the phone
Press simultaneously on the green/talk, 3 and* keys and hold the 3 keys.
Turn on your phone
Wait for the onscreen Format message then can release the three keys
This method may also work for Nokia phones that won't turn on.

Get into the SP mode and do an SP5-801, that should blow everything out. Later models had an SP code that allowed you to get rid of the Key-Op lock out code, but I don't think the A232 had that capability.
