Breaking down after 3 years is about right for LCD TV. It sounds like the T-CON board has gone out. Does the on screen menu look normal?
Learn about failed T-CON/LCD panel here and also read my guide to understand more.

    Thanks budmrtn,
Really 3 years is about right for an LCD?..that's crazy considering how much they cost.
I can't even see the on screen menu...as the screen is dark. What would you estimate the
cost of repair to be..or should I just buy another??
    Thaks for your response.

Typical repair will be $150 and up plus parts, estimate charge alone will be about $50 or more.
Look at the screen in the darkened room to see if it has any glowing screen, if not it can be the backlights or the 24vdc power supply for the backlights has gone out. I see TVs less than two uers old that already break down, it does not matter what brand you buy, the only thing to watch out is that the company will still be around a year from now when the TV will need replacement parts.

Toshiba regza sound picture

It sounds that the back-light inverter bard has the fault. If you are somewhat sound in electronics, you can do the work by yourself. If you wish to get more details, check this link. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It has troubleshooting details to many brand televisions, including Toshiba. Pull up older post there, either by its left side bar, or, see it in 'Timeslide' option.

Toshiba regza 32hl67 losing its' picture and motion is slow

I have a toshiba regza 32hl67 LCD tv which is only 2 1/2 years old. The picture on this unit just started to go the other day (screen darkens but images are still visible and the motion/movement is very slow). I contacted Toshiba and they just said to unplug the tv for 3 minutes to reset the tv. This doesnt work. I am VERY upset with Toshiba, after paying $800 for a tv that only lasted 2 1/2 years. If anyone has had similar issues and know how to fix it, please let me know. Thanks

Toshiba Regza 40XV645U garbled sound. Have to turn TV off and back on to resolve. Recurrs after an hour or so.

There is an issue with the audio processor. Most likely it is the main board needs to be replaced in order to fix the issue. You will need to remove the back cover in order to get access to it.

There could also be an issue with the power supply supplying the right voltage to the processor. This can be checked by seeing if the 18V DC is present at pins 3 and 4 of CN90 on the power supply. If the voltage is present, then replace the main board. If it is not, replace the power supply.

Was watching tv( Toshiba Regza)and the screen went blank.

I have the same television and ocasionally the sound shuts-off, but I still have a picture.
What type of cable system do you have? What kind of converter box? I am trying to find out if it is the TV or converter box. I change the channel a couple of times and the sound usually comes back.

No picture, just sound

No new video card required. I just reset the television by holding the on/off button for five seconds (yellow light on front panel blinks repeatedly). I then cycled power using the remote control and my picture came back. Worked for me. Hope it works for you.
