I just need to know if it is multi system. I live in Germany right now and need to know. I lost the manuel and it doesn't say on the tv.

If the set have been aimed to work in US only, there will be no set-up switch or any such. If the set is a multi system one (you can get this detail by its user manual_specifications), it can be used with PAL too.

As I know, transmission and receiving system in Germany is PAL. A PAL system only device annot be set to NTSC or vice versa. You also knows that. How 625 lines system can be converted to 525l lines system. Normally, all sets released in US is meant for use in US only. The set will have strict quality control measure also.
I don't know about the technique, to change NTSC to PAL. If a converter which can make system convert, you may have use this device I thinks. As an engineer, just try to get this type of converter in Germany. OK.

i think you mean digital just run set up from the menu and let the unit find the channels

could you receive the German TV station, if yes you have to select in the setup menu the area to US and try again to search the AFN.
