We have a Linea 3 Group machine (manufactured 2007) and we use the La Marzocco Swift grinder. Every morninig there is a noticable "Extraction Time" difference between the 3 groups. For reference I will refer to the Group head on the right as GH1, the centre one as GH2 and the left one as GH3. Early morining the extraction time on GH1 is about 27 seconds and GH2 is 22 seconds and GH3 is 12 Seconds! If we keep using the machine everything settles down to a more even 22 seconds across all the 3 group heads. We ar in Auckland, New Zealand and the local support have been looking at the problem for almost a year with no solution in sight! This is a real problem resulting in a lot of coffee going to waste. Another point of note is that if GH3 (the left most) is not used say for an hour the extraction on that head really goes out. Please Help Prabhakar Rao Triniti of Silver cafe Mt Albert Auckland

SOURCE: Unable to programme La Marzocco

FYI - the flowmeters can get fried after lots of usage. Back in the day Starbucks used to put pieces of cardboard between the flowmeter and group head to prevent them from heating up. Aside from checking for scale you use test with an ohm reader. I think a functional one will reach 2.4ohm (or maybe 2.8). A broken one will post junk ohm information and bounce around. Replacing them is expensive so I'd just recommend usitng the semi-auto on/off switches. This info comes out of the big oragne Linea maintenance book.

SOURCE: Problems programming La Marzocco Linea espresso

Check to see if the program switch is turned off. There might be a switch in the inside of the machine, or on the front panel and you need the key for you have to go through the cpu board.

SOURCE: how do I increase grouphead

To increase dispense pressure you turn the adjustment screw at the pump. When pulling a shot (use espresso) on one group the bottom needle of the gauge should read 9bars while pulling the shot.

Grouphead not dispensing water

Remove the shower screen and press button to brew, if water flows the the holes in the screw/diffuser is blocked, if water does not flow then the blockage is at the solenoid or within the group head chamber. This problem I have notice when someone brewed without the shower and screw in place.

Tripped Circuits

Is the machine on a 20Amp or 30Amp circuit. If 20 then change it to a 30 amp circuit. That should provide enough power for the machine.
