You can download the drivers that were on the installation cd from the HP website at the below link:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=441115&lang=en&

Go to www.hp.com/support, select your country, state, next page, select drivers and software and in the window just below it, type in hp psc 1410, it will give you choices, select your printer, run or save to a location on your hard drive. If you prefer to save, double click on it and it will create a directory on your hard drive. Open the directory and run the software. It might be adviceable to unplug your usb cable before running the software.
