I recently moved and just got my outdoor speakers hooked up. When I turn on Zone 2, I get sound from my Ipod, but when I set Zone 2 to have music play from my satellite box, I get nothing. The music will play on my speakers inside the house, but won't play outside.

If your satellite box is connected using a digital cable to the 601 receiver you won't get any sound through zone 2.Zone 2 can process only analogue sound ( inputs ).

I can not get any source audio to play to my zone two speakers. no tv,cbl signal, blu ray sound, aux Ipod etc.

What brand/model receiver do you have? Most receivers will only output an analog signal to zone 2. You cannot use hdmi or optical inputs.

We wired our new home to have outdoor speakers and also speakers to our pool room. Before putting the receiver back into place after wiring the back, we quickly touched a speaker's wires to the wires...

It's not really clear if all of this is Zone 2 or not, or if you intend a second program to play in Zone 2.

If your Zone 2 is to a powered amplifier and its speakers the Zone 2 output would be FIXED (not variable from the host TX-SR705), that is, at a level that the receiving amplifier would control.

Page 99 deals with it.

Having just passive speakers in Zone 2 requires you to set Zone 2 to "ACT(ive)".

Zone 2 connections

go into your amp settings menu then to speaker settings, set zone 2 on and main on, turn up the volume for zone 2 about half way then connect phono cables from zone 2 pre out to a input on the external amp (eg cd input )
never use the phono input this is for turntables, connect this amp to your speaker switch/selector then to speakers.

hope this helps

How do I hook up my 2 outdoor speakers to a Denon 3805.....P.S no remote

PUT YOUR OUTDOOR SPEAKERS INTO SURROUND BACK SPEAKER "PORTS"AS YOU CALL THEM GEMMEG THEN GO TO UR SET UP MENU AND SWITCH ON ZONE 2 OR IT MAY BE AS SIMPLE AS A SWITCH ON THE FRONT OF YOUR AMP.IFF YOU STILL HAVE NO SOUND YOU MAY HAVE 2 TURN THE VOLUME UP FOR ZONE 2.ALSO SOME AMP NEED TO HAVE THE SOURCE ; IE WHAT U WANT 2 PLAY INTO ZONE 2 FOR EXAMPLE YOUR CD PLAYER.HOPE THIS HELPS ,IFF NOT GET BACK 2 ME 2 C IFF I CAN DO ANYTHING ELSE.

Outdoor speaker hook-up

Go into the manual setup on the GUI then go to the zone 2 and zone 3 setup. If you are using only the power from the receiver to power the speakers, make sure the setting is for Zone 3 amp "INT" if you still have no volume, on the front of the receiver look at the display, make sure "zone 3" is lit up then use the small remote and turn up the vol. if it's on you will see "zone 3 vol" and the bar going up it should be ok. if it says "fixed" it thinks you have an external volume control, if you do, make sure it's "on" at about 12 o'clock and test. If not, you need to switch it in the on screen "menu" or "GUI" button, follow to zone 2 & 3 vol control and make sure it is set to variable. If you still have no vol post a comment and we can dig further. Hope this helps
