when booting and loading windows when it comes the blue background screen (screen logon) stays that way , does not go further that point, tried f8 and all options from its menu and goes with same issue the blue background screen .
After setting booting devices options to bypass the hdd , inserted windows 2000 and also tried with windows xp ( pc is compatible with) does not boots from cd
same thing happens (loading windows files then blue background screen)
note - its not the blue error screen that it shows
also tried using original restore cd and when it boots using windows 98 boot , comes up with message " operating system not supported with device" isn't that something... lol

Which OS do you have? Have you tried booting to safe mode?. Restart the computer. Immediately after the BIOS post ends, start tapping the F8 key repeatedly. when Windows Advanced Options menu appears, select safe mode and see whether it boots completely without blue screen(BSOD)
Yu possibly have a virus You will need to format the hard drive and reload Windows if this doesn't work you will need a new hard drive. Try to "defragment the hard drive 1st. check the disk for errors.
I think your actually having issues getting it to run on the toughbook because it uses different drivers for everything from the Acer computer. If you press F8 while booting up you can choose the option "Disable automatic restart (of system errors or something)". Then when the machine boots up you should get a blue screen giving you an error code like "IRQ_EQUAL_TO_OR_GREATER_X Error: 0x0000005f. You could try to see what the message is trying to tell you to resolve it but the error msg would likely point to the driver that its trying to load that's most likely different from the toughbook you have. I'd suggest getting an external cdrom/dvdrom and install windows from a disc onto the toughbooks hd while its in that toughbook machine.
