You might wish to unplug the TV for an hour or more. If this power reset does not allow the TV to turn on component failure is indicated. These sets are assembled using the wave soldering process they are known for having cold solder connections.

The safety circuitry shuts the TV set down or will keep it from turning on when it detects a problem. This model of TV has over 2,000 parts, which includes millions of transistors inside the integrated circuits. The capacitors will change value, leak and become defective. Resistors will change value and burn. Diodes and IC can go bad.

This may have a domino effect and cause other parts to fail. Replacing one defective part may make the TV operate for a short time but the part will fail again if the parts that caused the failure to begin with are not replaced.

The only way to know for sure which parts that are no longer within factory specs and for a proper repair all the electronics must be diagnosed by someone with the correct electronic test equipment specifically designed for TV service and the skills to use the test equipment. I wish I could tell you there was a quick fix or button to push that would fix the TV but that is not the case or the solution needed to get the TV operating correctly.

Black Screen - Sometimes, the TV may display a black screen, now you need to check the cables whether they are properly plugged or not. Reconnecting all the cables can also work for this problem. Also, if the screen has a screen saver, check how it's set up. And, if nothing works for this issue, then there is a possibility that the lamp, rear projection, or the LCD panel may have been damaged. Now, you need to check your warranty card of your television and se your set comes under the manufacturer's warranty period. Call the customer service for technical problem and get replaced if a part demands it.

Hitachi 55VS69 screen goes black and there is no volume and it will not turn off unless unplugged.

The key here is you have to unplug it---it means the problem is related to the microprocessor which may become confused because of an issue elsewhere in the set---no real easy answer except it may be expensive to locate and fix.

Monitor goes black after about 7 to 10 seconds. I can turn power off and then back on and it will be ok for about 10 seconds before it goes black again.

Check whether the cable from the system to the screen is connected properly and there is not loose contact. Also take the system into BIOS and check whether the same issue is happening in the BIOS screen.Try a factory reset on the screen by pressing the OSD button on the screen.
Switchoff the screen and disconnect all teh cables including the powe cable and press and hold the power button for around 40 sec and now reconnect the cables and try to power up the screen

Tv screen goes off until you unplug and replug in

That's a video card error. Pulling the plug resets the card, but a firmware or chip problem is reoccurring. It needs a professional service call.

Kenmore elite microwave touch screen stopped working

Same thing happened to us. We just came back from Sears, where we bought another. Just for giggles, my wife suggested unplugging the old one and plugging it back in again. It works now. New one's going back to the store.
