AOMNI Corporation Magnavox 15MF605T/17 15 in. LCD TV Logo

I have a Magnavox 15MF605T 17 that when the power button is pushed it goes green for a couple of seconds then turns amber. No picture, sound, etc. I unplugged the TV for about 10 minutes and when I powered it back up, I got the same thing.

Try to turn it on with a remote if one is available. If you don't have the original remote you can look up the universal code for the cable or satellite remote. Also try to turn it on with the input source(vcr, video game, cable box,etc...) on first. I have the same TV and if it has no signal prior to manual power up it will go to standby mode.

I have a Magnavox HDTV 12' by 9" screen, Model number 15MF605T/17 The TV turns on and there is sound, but no picture. any suggestions?

check the connections in the back of the tv. If you are using a cable/satellite box, what sort of cable connects it to your tv? If HDMI then you should have sound and video thought that one cable. If component (5 plugs in total red, green, blue, and audio red/white) make sure the red green and blue plugs are seated in all the way on both the tv and the cable box.

Magnavox 15mf605t/17 15'' LCD HDTV won't turn on

Have similar TV. If it is set to the PC source, it goes into standby when there is no signal, like a regular monitor. Even though the monitor is in standby, you can still press the Source button to change to, say, HD input, and will use the familiar on/off action when pressing Power on the remote.

A little weird, but I've gotten very used to it.

Magnavox HDTV model# 15mf605t/17

Just figured this out based on a description of features.

You must power on the TV with the remote control - if you use only the power button on the monitor, it goes straight to stand by mode (the amber light).

Problem with Magnavox 15MF605T/17B

Hi SgtHoagie and anyone else:

I ran across this problem too, at 1:30 this morning. At that time I had to get out of bed and try to figure out what the hell happened. It seems that my flat panel TV somehow got switched over to the computer monitor mode. When this happens, the light will turn an amber color. On the bottom of your flat panel you'll see some very small buttons, marked "MENU," "CH" "VOL" and "SOURCE." You'll want to click on the "Source" button and that will switch your flat panel back to the TV mode. Your flat panel TV can also be also used as computer monitor.

Monitor not activating

Sounds like will need component-level electronic troubleshooting, probably in the power supply section.
