LCD Monitor wount turn on Black screen

Monitor light is flashing green, screen is black as if it is powered off, and there is a slight buzzing noise in the back of the screen. (noise which I've not heard until now). I've restarted the computer, unplugged the cords etc. and still nothing. green power light flashing constantly - black screen

even when disconnected from the computer(does not give no signal screen)

backlighting flickers constantly(barely noticable)



does kick in at random times, works till i shut down

then goes through the same process.

usually it takes hours or days for my moniter to work

Green light flashes - screen is black. Cannot turn monitor off during this time - as if frozen...nothing on screen. Several hours later, the green light turns yellow (like in standby mode), and I can hit space bar or move mouse and the screen comes back up. What's wrong? How can I fix? Do I need a new monitor?
