Hi there. I have recently bought an HP Deskjet 3050 printer and I am having terrible problems with it printing from within Photoshop CS3 on a PC. (XP Pro). When the print dialogue box opens, the picture I am trying to print appears distorted (flattened by about half) and even if I then adjust the picture from within PS3 to make the picture appear correctly in the dialogue box, it prints wherever it feels like it on the paper. All settings seem fine and I can't find any additional settings that might help. If I print to a PDF, it prints fine from the PDF. Can you HELP!!!! Please! thanks.

SOURCE: does not print. Asks for output file instead.

Hi,

The default printer is set to be "file". Here's what you must do:

- Go to printers dialogue box and right click on your printer name and selectd "Set s default printer"
 - Right click on printers name and chose Properties. then look for a check box saing something like "print to file" and unchek it.

This sould resolve the problem.
Best regards

SOURCE: Mac not printing to HP Deskjet F2200 series

1) First let's make sure the hardware is working. Place a document face down on the scanner glass. Press Start Copy Black. Did it scan and print?
If not, please let us know.
If it did, go to the next step.
2) Please confirm the USB cable is plugged firmly into the back of the printer and to the computer. Do not go through a hub, switch, or router.
3) Click on your Apple icon (upper left corner), System Preferences, Print and fax.
Do you have the F2210 printer listed more than once?
I am going to suggest removing the F series printer. Highlight it and press the minus button to delete. Once you have removed it, close all windows back to the desktop.
On the computer click on Hard Drive > Applications > Hewlett-Packard > Device Utilities > HP Setup Assistant. Follow the on screen directions to add the printer back to computer. Do not re-register the printer (choose skip or register later). Once your are able to click finish, try printing again.
I would suggest trying to print from Text Edit first. This will rule out any possible issues with the Word document you were trying to print. Click on Hard Drive > Applications > Text Edit. Type your name in the untitled screen. Click on File > Print. Make sure the F2200 series printer is selected. Click Print. Did it print?

I can't modify "screen" output in Photoshop CS4 extended

it sounds like you need a driver update for your printer although the most recent seems to be for earlier OS on the website. I would contact Epson and see what they can suggest if you want to continue to use this printer. I think though that you may have to consider printing to PDF format as a step you may have to accept.

Dark prints when printing from my Imac using Leopard

I was also having problems with my Epson scanner on my iMac. I read that the best way to solve Epson's problems is to (1) uninstall all Epson software from your HD, and (2) download the appropriate drivers from Epson and install them.

Note: The Epson R1800 has two drivers: the most recent is an update. So, you must first download and install the Printer Driver v6.12. When that's done, then download and install Printer Driver Update v1.02.

I did that and I still got dark prints. Then I got an inspiration. In the Print dialogue box, I changed my Printer Profile to the paper I was using, Epson Premium Luster Photo Paper, instead of using sRGB and/or Adobe RGB. Specifically, I used SPR1800 PrmLstr PhotoRPM.icc. The next test print was virtually spot on to what was displayed on the screen. I am now a VERY happy camper.

Please pass this info onto anyone else who can use it.

Quitting job early

Photoshop CS3 only allowes prints till 30.000 pixels in each direction. That's a kind of bug. You can lower your reslotution or buy an expancive RIP.

Hp deskjet 3500 won't print anymore...

HI- I have the same problem with my HP deskjet D2330- I have a call into Apple about this and will post any solution I get here. My understanding of this problem after speaking with people at apple , is that the computer doesn't recognize the driver (even after downloading hte lastest supposedly MAcBook compatible driver from HP website). I have found several people with this problem so I am hoping they are correcting it! In the meantime- if you ahve found a solutio yourself could you post it here?
