Open the chuck fully and look inside, there should be a screw there that has to be removed to remove the chuck in view of the fact that it is a reversable drill and the chuck cannot be screwed off like a conventional inudirectional drill.

Inside the chuck there should be a screw. take that out and the chuck may unscrew.if not there should be at the base of the chuck where it goes into the drill, two flat spots to put a wrench on. if you dont have a wrench that thin try to put the drill in a vise and see if you can unscrew it. the brake in the gears should keep it from turning while trying to unscrew.

How do I add the auxiliary handle to my DeWalt 510 Hammer drill? The 511 manual shows a hinged collar, not found on the handle I have or on any I've seen for sale. That sort would make it easy and sma

Unscrew the handle from the collar and see if it will open wide enough to slide over the chuck and onto the drill neck.
If not, you may have to remove the chuck. Open the chuck jaws completely and look down inside you will see the head of the screw which is holding the chuck onto the drill.

How to get the chuck off a dcd950 dewalt hammer drill

Only the screw in the centre of the chuck would be l/h tread, the chuck should be normal thread and come off in an anti clockwise direction. Please confirm drill model number. They did a version where you needed a service tool to remove it and refit. It is torqued on.

How to remove the chuck?

open the chuck fully and it shoudl have a screw inside. Unscrew it, but be carefull, these screws are usually reversed - to uncsrew, rotate it clockwise. Once done, put allen key into chuck (short side in), fasten the chuck to hold allen key well and hit the key with hammer - counterclockwise direction. You might want to verify this procedure with someone else as I have no experience with Dewalt, but this way it works for Makita, Metabo, Narex, ... then why not for Dewalt? Juraj

How do I fit drill in this machine please? DEWALT D25113K D25113 3 MODE SDS

Youcan only use standard drill bits with the use of a chuck attachment with the SDS type bayonet. These hammer drills use an SDS type drill bit which just pushes into the fitted chuck and are released by pulling back on the lock mechanism on the chuck.

How do you remove a key chuck from a dewalt drill

first shift the drill to the drill only position and the gear selector to the low position, remove the chuck retaining screw LH thread, find a bent handle allen wrench about the chuck capacity and lock in the jaws of the chuck, put the chuck on a block of wood at about a 30 degree angle to hit the long portion counter clockwise and strike it with a hammer, it might take a couple hits but it will come off. I misread the header last time.

Dewalt 14.4 xrp combi drill

remove the chuck retaining screw, shift the tool into the low position and the clutch into the drill only position. Find a bent handle allen wrench about the size of the chuck (bigger the better) insert short end into chuck and tighten. Put the chuck on a work bench with the long end of handle at about a 30 deg angle and hit it with a hammer. It might take a couple times but it will come off.
