Use a digital optical cable!

Did you change the HDMI cable? If so, you should check to ensure you have the cable installed so it is running the right direction. It may seem hard to believe but some HDMI cables only allow the signal to run in one direction.

hi there, you did not mention what you are actually watching on the bluray player, i.e is it 720p or 1080p ?. Also, how do you know it is actually 1080p from your cable box ?. And what is the model number of your TV ?.

You may want to try a good, Monster Cable, HDMI cable.

My tv is brand new samsung 32 inches lcd. I accidently press power button several times and now i dont see any red dot. when I use my remote control, i see red dot but thats all

if they all have hdmi support use them, best res.

Try a new HDMI - I had a cheapo from walmart and I tried a Monster HDMI and it worked beautifully

The main board has malfuntion. Call for service to replace it.

You appear to be correct. HDMI Timing issue with PS3.

1. Try a different cable
2. Try a shorter cable
3. contact TV manufacturer and report it.

I am guessing this may be corrected by replacing the cable. HDMI cables use different gauge(Thickness) wires and different shielding, so with some inferior cables there may be noise. This will cause picture problems. Don't let name like "monster" fool you, you Must try a different cable. If this is a TV problem, I would guess 100% that the TV manufacturer is aware and already created a fix if so. PS3 is so popular as the choice Blu-ray player that it is tested will all products sold. Almost used as a baseline for correct operation with BluRay and HDMI devices.
