Try to check first the voltage requirements at the back of your tv it is printed there, but most of the tv models specially the lcd it is auto volts.

HERE'S THE ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEM:

If your TV has 250 or above voltage, it would not be suitable to lower voltages like 110. But if your TV has a lower voltage compared to the outlet. It would just be fine. Here's what you've got to do:

1. Check your TV plug if its voltage is lower or higher than your outlet.

2. In case your TV plug has a lower voltage compared to that of your outlet, everything will be fine.

3. In case it is the other wise, better change it or consult a TV Technician in your place.

Sony Tv Bravia won't switch on for days, when on only white light and sound no pictures. Help

I think fault is in electrolyte capacitor. You should check the supply volt of cathode & all relative component of RGB input.

We have a Sony Bravia 2 years old from USA (110 vault) and have now moved to Singapore (220 vault). Can we plug this tv in or do we need a transformer?

you would need a step-down transformer from 220 volts to 110 volts. Also you need to consider the Frequency as USA uses 110-115V 60Hz and many countries around the world use 220-240V 50Hz. In addition you need a physical wall plug adapter so you can plug the power cord into the wall. These are not very expensive but get the proper kind. Generally it is a good idea to buy a TV over there which is more compatible.

Power Outage Problems Sony Bravia 32" LCD TV

try cycling the power (unplug 2 minutes) and plug in and wait 30 seconds and turn back on. if this doesn't work, could have been a surge, your protector should have saved it, but could have been through cable or something. surge protectors will guarantee no damage for several years, check with the manufacturer maybe they'll cover the repair.

Check audio voltage supply from power supply board, if OK, replace GP Board (main board)
and if audio volts are not available, check/ replace power supply board.

The tv can plug in on 220 power voltage

If you have your owners manual check the specs, however most Sony Bravia units have universal power supplies (120V-240V 50/60Hz). If the TV was built for North American use the tuner may not be able to decode the signals in Europe or Asia, they will need to be converted to standard HD signals (1080i, 720p etc.connected with HDMI or Component inputs) to be displayed.
