DO NOT USE MOTOR OIL!!!

There is a special 2-stroke engine oil mix that you can purchase at various stores that have outdoor equipment or you can also find mix at Walmart. There are instructions for proper mixing on the bottle.

Remember not to put 2-stroke mixed fuel in your lawn mower unless it is also 2-stroke (rare). And the converse is also true, do not put your 4-stroke lawn mower fuel in your 2-stroke weed eater.

Does my poulan pro pp428S use oil in gas

No it is a 4 stroke and doesn't require oil to be mixed in the fuel. It does require at least 90 octane.

I found the manual for this model weed eater, according to the manual the mixture...
and I quote "This engine is certified to operate on unleaded gasoline. Before operation, gasoline
must be mixed with a good quality synthetic 2-cycle air cooled engine oil designed to be
mixed at a Ratio of 40:1 ...."
and I quote once more from the manual "Helpful Tip. To obtain
correct oil mix ration, pour 3.2 ounces of 2 cycle synthetic oil into one gallon of fresh gas."

Hope that helps,
If you like I can send the manual via email if you need it.

Do you add the oil first or the gas first?

If you're talking about mixing two-cycle oil with gas for a two stroke motor, always mix it in a gas can then pour it in the weed eater. It's easier to put the oil in the gas can first then fill it with gas to get the two mixed well.

What ratio of oil and gas do I mix together? How do you start it? I bought the weed eater used.

If you bought it used, you can bet that they didn't run it out of fuel before they stored it, so the gas evapoated out of the carb and all that was left was oil, so mix your fuel 8 to one eight parts gas and one part oil, you'll have to hit the primer botton several times.

Never owned a 2cycle product and some one gave me a John Deere t105c trimmer but dont have an owners manual and dont want to pay $20 -$40 for one just to find out how to fill with gas/oil mixture. Can you...

You need two-cycle motor oil, do not use regular motor oil. Almost all two-cycle motors are designed to run on a 50 to 1 mixture of gas and oil. Look for two-cycle motor oil at any store that carries two-cycle tools like chain saws, line trimmers, etc. A good bet is Lowe's or The Home Depot. If you get the 2.6 oz bottle you have to add that to one gallon of gas to get a 50:1 mixture. Always read the oil bottle for correct mixing amounts and mix the oil with the gas in a separate container then put it in your trimmer.

What oil mix ratio do i use for my huskvarna 123hd60

Husqvarna engines are made to tighter tolerances and are designed to run cooler. This is why the manufacturer recommends running a 50:1 mix. A richer mix of oil (such as 40:1) will run in the trimmer, but it will make alot of smoke, foul the spark plug, and clog the spark arrestor in a short period of time.

I recommend you stick with the 50:1 mix, and use Husqvarna, Stihl, or Echo 2 cycle mix. All three of these 2-cycle oils are a high grade oil designed to run in air cooled engines and they should not be substituted with cheaper brands
