Might just be that disc. Have you tried another? Maybe try doing that and then see what happens. If it happens again, try another machine. If it works in the other one, you'll need to replace your burner.

If you have a DVD lens cleaner I would use that and let us know. You can find them at DVD rental stores for about 10 dollars. Otherwise, there is no addressable reason for this phenomena.

Try the lens cleaner.

DVD recorder continually stuck on a loop trying to read disk.

Hi again

Well done!

I am so pleased to hear that you have restored the DMR E55 and for taking the trouble to let me know. It's always satisfying to achieve something like that and I guess you'll get even more pleasure from using it now than you did before. They are good machines and well worth the effort to keep them going.

Thanks again and kind regards

DVD-RW Recordables

This problem also happens when you try to use vide tapes from other countires inside american vcr players and vice versa. The problem is a format incompatibility. There was several differnt dvd formats when dvds were emerging and in some countries they havent updated to the latest format. My solution would be to get a new dvd recorder or try to change the formats of the files on the disks.

Mine will intermittently record only the first minute or two of a tv show I have queued up to regularly record. It seems to happen anywhere from every show to every 5-10.

However, the dvd has now stopped working (not related to the above problem) - hence me looking

Endless loop

Mine did this (on a Ram disk) but I was able to push eject before the dvd tried to read the disk. I had unplugged it overnight, then once plugged back in immediately pushed eject. Once the disk was out it stopped going into recovery mode.
Hope it helps. Good Luck.
