It is compatible with any brand of SD card up to 1 Gb size. To look at the brand/model of your SD card, open your camera, remove the SD card and check the labels. It doesn't have it's own brand of SD card, so depending where you bought it, the store can just put any brand of SD card into it.

How to get around the Protected SD card

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

My vivcam says card protected when i want to take a photo. Model 8225.

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

If you have pics on the internal memory, you may need to erase them by formatting the memory with no card in the camera.
