No! check along the bottom or the side of the set for a mains switch
when activated you should hear a click and see an indicator light red or green at the front of the set usually at the bottom,pressing any other button should switch the tv on if not already on..
if still no response then there will usually be an internal fault which will have to be diagnosed,this may be as easy as a fuse or may be one of the boards,either powersupply or syscon ....hope this helps.....Len

If the set doesn't power ON, what is the use with a remote control? If it power ON properly, the power indicator light at its front panel will light up. Look for this. If it doesn't, make sure that you have got a set which has to be repaired. If it does power up, just get a remote control to operate it. OK.
