First of all, do not save any new file to camera's memory card.

Take out memory card, and connect it to computer using a card reader. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in Windows Explorer.
Download Asoftech photo recovery software, you can follow this article for detail steps
http://www.asoftech.com/articles/how-to-recover-deleted-photos-from-camera.html
Install and open the photo recovery software, select the memory card, and click 'Start' button.

First things first - do not take more photos and do not save anything back to the camera memory card. Then connect it to your PC. Install this digital camera photo recovery program to make a free scan and recover the deleted pics. Good luck!

All your pictures are saved on the memory card of your cannon digital camera automatically. So you can recover your deleted pictures from memory card with third party photo recovery software.I have a good photo recovery software that can recover data after deeply scanning your memory card to look for lost pictures you accidentally deleted. You can download it and scan your memory card for free to preview whether your deleted pictures can be recovered.http://www.any-data-recovery.com/index.htm

Be relaxed! It is not difficult to successfully restore all your deleted pictures back from digital camera. Here are the detailed steps for you:
Step1. Stop using this camera in case that any new file would rewrite your original data.
Step2. Insert this camera to your computer and prepare to restore your data.
Step3. Download a camera deleted photo recovery freeware to your computer and start to retrieve all your deleted contents back:
http://www.freeware-fix.blogspot.com/2013/02/deleted-partition-file-recovery.html
In fact, this freeware has ever successfully saved all the inaccessible data of my friend off from his camera. So, I also believe it can also work successfully on your camera memory card, too.
Simply read more information of this freeware here:
http://www.freeware-fix.blogspot.com/2013/02/photo-recovery.html

Step4. Save and back up all the restored photos on a different memory card or drive in case of data recovery

How to delete pictures from the camera?

There are two options to delete pictures from your camera:

1. You can delete the picture with the camera itself:
  • On the back of your camera, move the switch down from the red camera symbol to the green arrow symbol.
  • On the top of your camera, press the POWER button.
  • Using the left and right arrow keys on the back of your camera, move through your photos to select the first photo you want to delete.
  • On the back of your camera, press MENU/OK.
  • Using the arrow key pointing up, select FRAME and then press MENU/OK.
  • You will now see, on your screen, the words ERASE OK? Press MENU/OK.
  • The camera will automatically ask you if you want to erase the next photo. If you do, press MENU/OK, but if you don't, press the BACK button.
2. The best option is to connect your digital camera to the computer via a USB cable. Once your camera is being detected open the photo folder and select all the pictures and hit the Delete key.

Deleted pictures

There is no way you to mass deleted all pictures by just touching the screen. You must first display the pic you want to delete, then press the Trash Icon, then select yes on the screen, so accidental pic deleting is very hard to do.

I believe your pics are still on the camera, else the camera is defective.

To erase ALL the pictures, leave the camera in picture review mode and press the menu button. The erase command should be around the fourth item listed in the menu that pops up.
