The symptom presented here indicates a draining problem. The machine will not advance to the rinse or spin cycle unless the wash water or rinse water, respectively, is drained first.

The Wash Progress LEDs are also designed to flash a code when a problem occurs. These LEDs serves as digits for an 8-digit binary number being 1 for on and 0 for off. Indicate which among the LEDs to determine the code and the necessary actions to be undertaken.

The problem is indeed in the draining if you get fault code 37. Either the drain hose is clogged or kinked, the diverter valve has failed, or the pump itself is restricted or not working at all. Check to make sure that the drain hose is clear then disconnect power and lay the machine on its front on a cushioned surface to access the drain pump and the diverter valve. Remove the pump's inlet and outlet hoses then check and clear them from any debris that may prevent water from draining out. Check the impeller for any damage or restriction. Make sure the impeller is not frozen or blocked.

Also check the diverter valve for the same condition as the pump described above. The diverter valve is where the drain pump and the recirculation pump inlet hoses are attached from. Make sure the diveter valve is in the drain position while the drain pump is working. Replace the drain pump and/or the diverter valve if deemed necessary.

SOURCE: Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!

SOURCE: washer won't drain/rinse/spin

it may be a pressure switch fault. Remove the top cover (lid) and look for a round object with a small rubber pipe coming of it and a electrical connector with 2 or 3 wires, replace this part.

My roper top loading machine washes but will not advance to rinse it fills up but drains immediately after.

Hi,

Please power cycle your washer (ie unplug power for 2 minutes before powering on again). Then, you can move your dial counterclockwise (or opposite the direction that you currently turn your cycle-setting dial) by 90 degrees. Then, attempt a full cycle again. This should help somewhat reset your cycle functions so that it works properly.

Thank you.

Programs don't advance. The machine seems stuck in each mode, it will fill and wash but doesn't advance through the programs. I have to switch off and manually advance the dial to rinse, spin, drain etc

Try moving your drain hose to a different height.t may need lower than you have it. My washer did the same , Drain hose needs to be higher than the pump that drains the washer.

Hello there:
If your cycle does not complete or The cycle doesn't advance
When the cycle should advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. than check the cold water supply line and the filter
