Apex 32 inch tv Model #PF3230

Our picture is too large for the tv screen. We have directv and cannot see the left side of the guide nor can you view scrolling on the bottom of the screen. I have found the owner's manual and also purchased the service manual. I have tried the service codes I've found on the internet and in the service manual to no avail. (lowering volume to 0 and pressing mute on remote and either menu or video on the tv). Does not work. I also tried the full screen button on the remote. All that does is shrinks the screen but does nothing to change the problem. Can someone please help me? Thanks.

The only way I can reset the tv is by using the service code, and it won't work. My son had the same problem with his Magnavox tv. He found the service code online and fixed his immediately. I cannot get the "S" for service on my tv.

Its not the problem of service code not working for the tv.or any reset system is not supporting.its the problem of any faulty --ic-- or capacitor on the main board of the tv.just replacement is needed for that particular --ic-- or capacitor.you can do if you have a technical knowledge of checking the faulty --ic-- or capacitor.but i will suggest you to call a technician at your place to make it proper without any thing wrong happening.as the reparing will be very normal so the cost will also be very normal.rthis are the normal problem occuring due to to the faulty --ic-- or capacitor.so do not worry.your device is perfectly ok and work for sure after reparing.

pls do rate the solution

thanks.

Do a hard reset. Unplug the TV and leave disconnected for 3 hours. This may or may not help, but it is a necessary step to restore all internal software codes to their factory settings.Take out all devices connection DirecTV,DVD or whatever devices. After 3 replug again the TV with the DVD only check if the trouble persist..

Hope this may help;

Since there's no way top reset the settings of the television and the option to adjust the display is not working , definitely there's something wrong with one of the components of the tv and the adjustment must be done inside it...but if this tv is still under warranty better take it to servcie center or call Apex for this (800) 880-1227..

Hope that helps......

Hi,

Might it be that the settings that has to be changed is the output of your DirectTV receiver to be compatible with the maximum resolution/capability of your Apex Digital PF3230?

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

G'day mate

Sounds like the power supply regulation has gone high volts, and the screen is blooming because of it. I suggest getting a tech to look at it, will probably have the usual issues of capacitors failing in the power supply. Cheers

try resetting your TV by unplugging from the wall outlet and then rest it for while and then plug it again and then test.

also clean all the button switch maybe it got sticky.

Its not worth the repair if you still want to go ahead i need to know two things:
Are you going to have a qualified electronics technician fit it?
If you are planning to fit it yourself are you a qualified electronics technician?
If you answered no to both of these questions i cannot tell you where to get one or how to fit it due to the massive amounts of danger involved.
