How to replace a toner cartridge

Follow the illustrated instructions beginning on page 88 of http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/bpl10335/bpl10335.pdf for removing and reinstalling the toner cartridge.

Check and make sure the toner is in correctly. Also go to your start menu if you are running windows and look for your print settings print a test page if this isn't working then please message back.

Hello,

Color laser printer require that all four cartridges have toner even if you are just printing black. You will need to replace all of the cartridges that are empty before you can print anything.

I wont think so that there is no toner level sensing in 12a catridge, messaige might be catridge missing or incert catridge.. remove back door see down right side sensor which sensing the catridge presence, check sensor flag dislocate/spring dislocate/broken correct it, if sensor is dusty clean it... Best of luck

Printer will not read toner.

Did it ever work? If it was printing before, what happened right before the toner error appeared. Did you replace the toner(this is an HP toner cartridge, right?), did you have a paper jam....?

That's a neat trick. The 4100 is a printer that uses one BLACK toner cartridge. It doesn't print in color. And it doesn't use ink.

Several Options:
- Increase the Toner Density Level to 5
- Use freshly opened media
- Use a new print cartridge, if near end of life
- Run a cleaning page to clean the fuser

If the line only prints with your new toner cartridge that means that the cartridge is defective. You can inspect the drum to see if there is something stuck in the center of it. If not, try to return it and get another one.

TONER OUT
The toner cartridge has run out of toner.
Depending on how the printer has been configured, it will either continue to print or stop.
Due to the resolution of the toner level sensor, it is possible that a small amount of toner (less than one percent) might still be present in the cartridge.
1. If the printer has stopped, you can resume printing by pressing GO for each job.
2. Replace the toner cartridge.
