Do an initialization (factory reset) by holding the HIGHEST WHITE key down and turning on the power. Hold the key for an extended time until display confirms initialization complete. This will restore unit to factory defaults.

The ACMP function doesnt work when I play, even tho it says it is on in the display window

Check you have selected 'sync start'. The ACMP selection activates the automatic chords but not the rhythm, so each note produces a droning chord. Sync start activates the automatic chords and rhythm you have selected when you play anywhere near the bottom end of the keyboard. Alternatively you can manually press play to start the drums by themselves and then the chords will begin the moment to play with your left hand.

Can I hit one key to play a chord and how do I do it

It depends exactly on the model of keyboard you have but in short look for the accompaniment button normally on the left hand side. With this pressed you can then get 1 finger chords in the left hand ( 2 fingers will give minor or 7th options ) check your handbook

How do i adjust the drum rhythm volume so it is louder than the tone settings

You ay have to edit a rhythm and save it as a "user defined rhythm". During editing the volume of each part can be defined with vol. level ranging from 0-127.

Please read the manual.
Metronome volume can be easily changed by just holding the metronome button.

The lower keys wont work without harmonization

Sounds like you have the accompaniment function selected. Find the button on the front panel and deselect it and you will get full control back

When I turn on my BOSS RC-20XL Loop Station the reverse, tap tempo, write, exit and one shot phase start to blink rapidly and I cannot get them back to normal. Therefore, I am unable to use my loop...

Hi. I had the same problem and fixed it by clearing all the phrases. An explanation of how to do this is below (written by someone else, not me) But, expect your guide beat to now sound like a fuzz instead of a drum. This really sucks and there is apparantly no fix for the guide sound except to send it back to Boss. Good luck.

1. Start by selecting Phrase 1.

(if the 'REVERSE' or 'AUTO START' are lit press them off.)

2. Select 'INST & MIC' by pressing 'MODE'

3. Hold down 'EXIT' and 'AUTO START' together - at the same time, this should light up the green LED for 'LOOP PHASE'

4. Hold down 'WRITE' and 'EXIT' together
then hold 'WRITE' on its own
then 'WRITE' and 'EXIT' together again...as if you were clearing a phrase.

they should light up in red and flash, if not try a combo of section 4.

5. Repeat on all Phrases 1 - 11.

I have a casio lk-44. I want to be able to play a song from the songbank, but just hear the background rhythm and not the melodies. I want to play the melody myself from the songbank. When I pick a song...

Not sure if your "booklet" is the full user manual... if not go to this site and go through their "hoops" and download the full user manual. It shows how to put the unit in the mode that merely lights the keys and plays the rhythm, unlike the "demo" mode.

Note the manual is free via the Retrevo site... just have some of those annoying hoopps like email address and entering numbers.

My Alesis Sr-16 will suddenly start playing without being being commanded and it will also stop playing during a performance. Is this common and can it be fixed?

These will USUALLY stop playing if in a song mode that runs so many cycles and terminates.

The random starts CAN be caused if you have a MIDI input cable connected and ANY device sends a rhythm start command or starts sending rhythm clocks to the unit. You can usually disable receiving commands via MIDI and SHOULD do this unless you are actually using MIDI.

Other things would be electrical transients that could trigger the device. MAKE SURE ALL of your equipment that this is connected to is power from the SAME electrical outlet to avoid ground loops which can also damage your equipment as well as cause intermittent operation.

CASIO PX575R 1 year old off warranty. Randomly, keyboard will lock up. The keys will stop triggering any sound, but the rhythm machine keeps on playing. And all the controls are locked, not a single button...

This may be a hard one to analyze, however my educated guess is that a static discharge is putting the internal processor in a program loop it shouldn't be in.

It is my experience that you MAY not even feel a discharge even.

Suggest you make sure to not wear static producing clothing as a test. Sliding across a piano bench might even create the discharge.

The unit SHOULD not be sensitive to this, but the designers don't always do things right.

ALSO make sure the unit is plugged into a grounded receptacle.

Use of external things like amps and headphones can WORSEN the problem of static. External amps MUST be fed from the same receptacle.

Check the voltage provided by the cells. Each cell should be above 3 volts. Make sure they are installed with correct polarity and the contacts are making. Brand new cells CAN be bad and some holders may not contact properly.
